Cramping, spotting, and a blob of bright red blood

Aaargh. I'm only 7 weeks and I've had cramps/aches and spotting on and off the whole time but I've had ongoing achey crampy feeling since early afternoon combined with spotting and a blob of bright red blood the size of a 50p piece. I'm worrying for the worst/ectopic and I just can't even get through to the EPU. I have been on hold for 1hr 5 mins on my mobile, but the pre-recorded message about being in a queue hasn't repeated since 50 minutes in, so I don't know if I'm still in the queue, but too worried to hang up in case I am. So now also in the queue on my landline for the past 5 mins and have DH also in a queue. It's appointment only due to covid so I can't just turn up like in normal times. Isn't that ridiculous, to be on hold for over an hour to the 'emergency early pregnancy department' as the message keeps calling it.

Just wanting a handhold really I guess.

Hi MeadowHay, so sorry to hear you’re going through this. I’ve had bleeding at various points in pregnancy so I’ve done a lot of googling - it can be totally normal, so try not to panic yourself too much until you know more. You’re doing the right thing going straight to the EPU, hope they manage to see you. Stay positive and sending a virtual hand hold x

Thanks Penny. I got through to the EPU after 1hr 20 mins on hold! They have booked me in for a scan tomorrow morning. I'm a bit anxious in case there is any bad news as DH obviously can't come with me due to covid. Just praying everything will be ok. I've not had any more red blood since earlier just some spotting and ongoing achey cramps.did your bleeding always turn out ok if you don't mind me asking? Did they identify a cause? This is my second but I didn't have any bleeding or spotting at all with DC1.
