Gas hob wouldn’t turn on so could smell gas.

What the title says!
I was trying to turn my gas hob on but it wouldn’t turn on for a good few seconds so I just had the clicking and the noise of the gas coming out, it’s never done that before so I was stopped and tried again and it happened again until it turned on that time, but obviously gas had come out and I was standing close enough that I smelled the gas for all of 5 seconds and then I realised and moved away into the other room, I’m worried now breathing in that gas has done something maybe? I’m 11 weeks nearly 12, has anyone got any advice on this? I have looked on the internet but nothing similar to this situation, thank you.

You'll be fine. It was very limited exposure so don't worry.

A good few seconds, even though it happened twice, won’t have leaked enough gas to cause problems so try not to worry

Does Methane affect pregnancy or the unborn child?
There are limited data available on the direct effects of exposure methane on pregnancy and the unborn child. Therefore it is not possible to draw any definitive conclusions. Effects on the unborn child are more likely to occur if the exposure to methane causes the mother to become unwell.
Low level exposure to methane in the environment and from the correct use of natural gas products or appliances would not be expected to harm the mother or the unborn child

Thanks both, I didn’t smell the gas the first time it happened I smelt it the second time so it was for only that 5 seconds but that article is really informative thank you for putting that in ☺️
It hasn’t made me feel ill I feel fine! It happened about an hour ago now and I’m still feeling okay, I feel a tiny bit of a headache but I’m not sure if that’s in my head because I’m worried about it now, thank you though has made me feel better I’m hoping all is well, my 12 week scan is next week so hopefully all is well in that scan, thank you both!
