Could this mean baby has “dropped” at 34 weeks?

This is my third pregnancy and in my previous two I don’t think I ever noticed baby engaging. With DS1 I had a midwife appointment at 36 weeks, baby wasn’t engaged at all and I went into labour the next day.
With DS I didn’t feel anything significant later in the pregnancy I just read in my notes they his head was engaged and that was that. I remember having a sweep at 38 weeks and the midwife said she could feel his head so easily with how low it was but I don’t think I felt much different, unless it was very gradual.

I’m 34 weeks today, and when out on a walk I had so many pains down below. Lots of lightening crotch and feeling a lot of pressure. I’m not worried as such my only slight concern is that DS1 was born at 36 weeks and I wouldn’t like another baby being born preterm as he had quite a few problems despite being so close to full term.

I’m assuming this is all normal though and my new adopted waddle will be my walk for the foreseeable?

It could be, but I had a similar feeling recently and really felt lots of pressure very low down, although it was about 31 weeks. It so happened I had a scan booked next day and far from being engaged the baby was actually transverse!
