So last week I wrote a thread about getting a positive pregnancy test after bleeding for 15 days straight (thought it was regular period until it lasted for so long 🤔). Anyway..

So started what I thought was regular period, lasted 15 days so I thought something isn't right. Positive pregnancy test.. okay I must be mid miscarriage. GP refers me to EPU, have bloods taken and scan. Nothing is seen on scan so was told to wait for results of blood test and come back for more bloods in 48 hours. I've had miscarriages before, I know the drill.

EPU never got back to me! I rang them twice last week asking what was going on and they promised a phone call back on Friday which never happened.

Rang EPU this morning, nurse said 'oh your hcg level was over 2000 and they couldn't see anything on scan? You NEED to come and see a doctor'. Okay fine. In I went.

So the concern is hcg was quite high and nothing could be seen on scan so possible ectopic? But in no pain. After the doctor spoke with consultant they decided not to scan me and to just re take blood and come back in 48 hours to have them taken again. 'It's likely you're mid miscarriage'. Yes I realise that thanks. (Been bleeding for 22 days now).

Doctor rings with blood results before and says they have risen to 6000. Wtf! Nothing seen on scan, bleeding for 22 days but levels risen? So I'm petrified it's ectopic! Booked in for a scan on Wednesday morning because there is no availability tomorrow 🙄

I'm so confused??!!

I'd push for an earlier scan or do one privately. With the levels 6000+ they must be able to find where the pregnancy is. Take care!

@anniebu I tried to stress to the doctor on the phone that I really don't want to leave it (if it is ectopic) until I'm in agony and have a tube rupture etc. Doctor just said to call if I start getting any pain and they will organise an emergency scan, but only if I'm in pain 🤷‍♀️

That doesn't sound great - I can see why you're worried. I know there are lots of possible causes of bleeding and it may not be anything to be concerned about and I hope everything is OK for you. If you start to feel pain or dizziness I'd be straight on the phone and into A&E if it was out of hours. I hope you're alright.

Ectopic pregnancy confirmed in my left tube. Having surgery to remove tube this afternoon 😢.

If I hadn't had been so persistent and called the EPU myself on Monday, I dread to think what could have happened.

(I was supposed to have surgery at 1.30 but nobody has come for me yet 🤔)
