Dying hair when pregnant

This is probably a really obvious question, but does anyone dye their hair while pregnant?

This is my 2nd, I know I didn't dye my hair with my first as I didn't need to, but there is definitely more grey in it at the moment so I have a shop brought dye (which I have used before, albeit a few years ago)

Have googled and it seems pretty OK but also not a lot of research into it!

I did with all my others but embracing my natural colour with current one.

I’m 29 weeks and have dyed my hair about 4 times since falling pregnant. No issues so far.

From what I can tell, it's better if it's ammonia free hair dye. That's the main thing.
And they advise doing it after 12 weeks.
Apart from that, it's fine

I did but make sure to do the patch test (even if you've used the brand/colour before) as you never know how your body has changed since being pregnant :)

You can but I’ve noticed my hair didn’t take it very well at all.

Hi, like you say there's not a lot of conclusive research but NHS and midwives generally seem to say it's OK but that some women choose to wait until after 1st trimester (especially if dye will be on scalp). The science seems to be that you'd need a much heavier chemical concentration than in hair dye to do any damage so it's almost certainly fine.

Having said that I haven't dyed my hair since I got PG "just in case" because the research is inconclusive and I figure it's a really easy thing to avoid (now 33 weeks). I'm gradually going grey from the roots (about 4 inches showing now) and just decided I don't care that much - it's only my vanity and this is a chance to find out what my hair actually looks like! Once LO is here and settled I'll sort it out.

Have dyed mine a few times was fine. Maybe do a patch test first to make sure. I took a reaction to cream i used before pregnancy and it hasnt agreed with me now im pregnant.

4 babies. I dyed my hair every 5-6 weeks with all off them. They're all fine!

Thank you all! Went for it last night. Seems to have taken ok, couple of greys not taken brilliantly but that could have been my bad attempt at dying! Not planning in doing it too regularly but at least it actually has some colour now!
