Soreness in middle of chest when pregnant?

So, I'm 29 weeks pregnant, been diagnosed with gestational diabetes,
and for the last week I've had a really painful soreness in the middle of my chest, under my boobs but just below where my bra sits. So upper chest middle.
It feels sore to the touch, it doesn't feel like an internal pain (I think).
At first I put it down to my skin stretching but thinking about it, my skins not really been stretching there.
I had an ultrasound on Wednesday and the baby is 50th centile and they said all fine. Had a blood test aswell and they put me on metformin, I just forgot to mention this soreness to the midwife.
I'm just after reassurance really that it's nothing to worry about or whether I should ring triage. I don't want to waste their time if it's just me being daft.
I know it's not my bra causing the pain as I've been wearing bralettes which don't have any wires in or padding and it's below where my bra sits anyway.
Is this just stretching? I started worrying it could be my liver with preeclampsia but I had no abnormal swelling and surely this would have been picked up last Wednesday?
Thanks for any help in advance!

Hi OP, I have had what sounds like the exact same thing since I was about 18 weeks (now 26). It’s off and on but worse when I stretch/reach up or have been more active. I mainly feel it when I roll over at night for some reason! I believe it’s just the ribs stretching apart to accommodate the baby - if you google “sternum pain” you’ll see loads of articles about it. I did call my midwife just to be sure and she said but was nothing to worry about but I’d suggest you mention it to yours as well - always better to talk to them and set your mind at ease!

It might be heartburn maybe?

Call your GP surgery and talk it through with them.

It may be heartburn so gaviscon can help with that.
