Hello everyone,

At the end of January, after a long sickness bug I discovered I was infact 9 weeks pregnant. This baby has the EXACT same due date as my last. Absolutely crazy. Got the shock of my life as I was on the pill. Anyway, I was just wanting to hear from anyone who has been through this. I’m more worried about the actual pregnancy. And how my body will cope. This will be baby number4. I have 3 year old twins. I will have to have another section and just worried about having 2 sections within a year (give or take a day or two).

Thanks xxSmile

Congratulations! Must have been a big shock for you.
I think it’s pretty common. A Mum from school has two kids in the same school year, one is the oldest in the year and the other is the youngest! She didn’t find out she was pregnant til about 4 months.
I imagine tiredness will be the hardest thing.

Hi Op, congrats!
There's 10.5 months age gap between my two! I had an emergency c section with my first, and because it was a 3 day terrible Labour, and because of having 2 in one year I went for an elective c section. All was fine!

The only thing I would say is that my iron levels were pretty low but they didn't tell me until I was 12 weeks pregnant (when I'd had my booking appt and bloods taken at 6 weeks) and that was probably because of having two so close together.

Otherwise everything went well :)

If you have any further questions feel free to PM me!

@Bingowin 4 months! I got a big enough shock at 9 weeks. I have insane morning sickness (as always) but because I was on the pill assumed it was something else. Luckily my latest little guy is SO chilled. The twins not so much. Haha. I’m such it will all change though. I love how that mum has them in the same year! So cute.

@Groinpainruiningmylife omg that’s crazy! Lovely crazy of course. Good to know about the sections. It was worrying me quite a lot.

I actually bought iron supplements but they smell and make me sick. But I will keep trying with them.

Thanks for your messages girls. Feeling slightly more calm now.....ConfusedGrin

OP not quite the same but I’m due in May and will have two under 15/16 months depending on when little one arrives. Last was EMCS so will more than likely be ERCS this time. Have also been sick, but luckily am nowhere near as Ill as I have been in previous pregnancies, but my bump has shown a lot earlier! I hope you feel better soon. There was a good few weeks when I was going to bed at the same time as my baby 😂 (as she still wakes at night and I’m working and pregnancy wiped me out) but second trimester helped with more energy!

I’ve never been able to stomach iron supplements but can sometimes manage the lighter iron kids chewable fruit gummy’s so might be worth a look in boots?

Ritamarie85 · 09/02/2021 04:30

@MissingCoffeeandWine congratulations! Another small age gap! Oh thank you, I’m on meds from my dr but they aren’t helping. Disaster. Assuming it’s another little boy as it’s an identical pregnancy to my last. Down to the day.....Grin. My 12 week scan is a day before last years. Surreal.....

Great will try those iron gummies. We are currently living in The US but moving home this summer, can’t wait for a trip to boots. I miss that shop! None of my family have met our baby yet so can’t wait to come home!

There is 12 months between my 2, it's hard and my knees are so bad (they got bad in the first pregnancy but now i can't even bend down without being in pain) i'm lucky though as my eldest is a great sleeper and in a routine, baby just sort of fit right in!

Bingowin · 09/02/2021 08:04

I like Boots too 🤣

Morning sickness is grim, especially when having to change nappies and having to look at baby food.

Will you find out the sex? And do you think it might be another set of twins? (Sorry, being nosy!)

Ritamarie85 · 09/02/2021 14:07

@strawberriesunited I’m hoping ‘Cos I survived the twins I can survive this to Grin. But I am fully expecting a repeat of that exhaustion. Our baby is also a good sleeper. Doesn’t sleep through yet but I’m hoping by then he will. Going to make it my mission ....

@Bingowin isn’t it the worst. I always get it pretty badly. But you never quite remember it until it returns. Awful...
it’s definitely not twins. I’ve had an ultrasound. My dr took me in as soon as I called her. And then told me she would be delivering me pretty much bang on the same day next year (but we won’t be here so she won’t). Not finding out the sex. We didn’t last time and I quite liked it Smile

How exciting. A single baby must seem easy after twins.
I found out the sex with my 1st (unplanned) and for my 2nd we didn’t find out. I had 8 growth scans so it took a lot of strength to not ask! It is lovely to have a surprise though.

Eleoura · 09/02/2021 14:17

My friend had an ectopic and lost a tube then years of failed IVF. Stopped IVF and looked at adoption, but fell pregnant naturally. When baby was 3mths old, fell pregnant with twins!!! 3 under 18mths!

Not so relevant currently, but one issue she had was flying with under 2's. Each adult can only have 1 lap child under 2, so she had to take another relative.

Ritamarie85 · 09/02/2021 14:38

@Bingowin I found out with the twins and since they were boy/girl didn’t find out next time. Don’t get me wrong some days I wanted to call my dr and ask. Haha.

@Eleoura wow that’s an amazing story! Your friend must be superwoman! But what a happy ending for her!

Luckily we will only have two under two. We’ve done so many long hauls with our twins from living over here and it was always dreadful. Now they can watch tv they are fine. But travelling with small kids is never fun in my opinion . Shock
