Hey ladies just need some positive stories basically I had a phone call last week and I've tested screen positive for edwards syndrome with a 1/30 chance I have since had the harmoney test and awaiting results I'm really hoping it comes back low risk. I'm just wondering if anyone is in the same boat and have had positive out comes. This is my 4th time pregnant and still yet to have a baby I've had 2 previous miscarriages at 24 / 23 weeks so this really is my last chance some advice would be really appreciated x

I am so sorry you are going through this. I know what that worry is like. I recently had a 1 in 9 result for Edward's and Patau's syndromes via the combined screening. I had an amniocentesis last week and it came back all clear. Just because you are at an increased risk, doesn't mean there is definitely a problem, but it is worth further tests for your peace of mind. 1 in 20 is only a 5% chance of there being an issue, so the odds are in you favour.

No experience but sending you hugs. We had the opposite, basic tests sufficiently clear that we had no worries. DS was born with mosaic trisomy 18 (Edwards being trisomy 18) so just reached to say that if you don't get the result we're all wishing for you, that there is support out there and a different perspective to the "no hope" mantra

I had a high risk result for downs in my last pregnancy. 1 in 36 chance. I had the harmony test too which came back low risk. Don’t worry too much yet (easier said than done I know). When do you get your results?

Katieemma123 · 08/02/2021 20:18

I had the test done on Thursday last week so I hope they come soon! Said can take up to 12 days though Sad

I had those exact results OP, and the harmony test came back negative, it has a 98-99% accuracy result so was reassuring!

Katieemma123 · 08/02/2021 21:47

Yes I've heard is 97% accurate detacting edwards so hopefully I'm not the unlucky 3% 💔 I am feeling more positive then negative but from my previous bad luck in past pregnancies I guess I just sit and wait for bad news 😒 but I'm trying to stay hopeful as all my scans have been perfect so far there basing this on my bloods low hcg and low Pappa A levels x

I am so sorry to hear of your previous losses OP, this must be an incredibly difficult time for you. All you do is try to remember that the odds are in your favour and it’s much more likely than not that the test will come back reassuring. Really hoping so, and thinking of you x

Katieemma123 · 09/02/2021 08:16

Thank you so much for your reassuring words ladies its made me feel better already! Just keep checking my emails and phone for the results I feel like I'm stuck in limbo and can't plan ahead untill I know x

I had the same but for downs, I had a 1 in 22 chance but did the harmony safe test and it came back really low risk. The odds are in your favour! Got everything crossed for you, I know how stressful it is waiting for results Flowers

Sitchervice · 09/02/2021 11:51

Hi @Katieemma123 I had a high chance too due to low PAPP-A my harmony test came back good though. I hope it all goes well. Sometimes the results come back much sooner.
