Implantation vs chemical pregnancy?

Got a positive test on Monday on a boots own brand and the a CB digital said 1-2 weeks. On Wednesday I had some bleeding that looked like day 3/4 of my period - like it was on its way out when you still need a pad but there’s not much going on. No cramps or pain or anything like that. Could that have been a chemical pregnancy/miscarriage? I imagined it would have been longer and more painful? As it is only 5 weeks I am going to leave it until 8 weeks and then test again. There’s no more bleeding and I feel fine, I’m not going to bother the GP: hospital They won’t be able to scan or see anything anyway. Has anyone else had similar and everything was fine? Feels like it’s going to be a long few weeks waiting to test again! 🙈

Hi there @Ameteurmum. I am currently going through something very similar to you. How are you feeling now?

Hey - very headachy and have sore boobs, trying not too read too much in to it or get my hopes up. Holding up on testing again for another fortnight until I would be 8 weeks so that if I can go for a scan there would be something to see. I’ve fallen down too many google rabbit holes where people in the same situation have gone to epau and were told to wait which I think would be more frustrating than just waiting anyway. Hope you are okay, it’s a horrible limbo to be in xx

Hi, I had spotting when wiping on 3 occasions between 4.5 and 5.5 weeks, agreed with GP that a scan that early may cause more worry than anything else as there isn't much to see. Had pain at 8weeks so had an emergency scan, pain was from a fibroid and baby ok, more bleeding at 9weeks, enough for a pad so midwife sent me for another scan and bleeding wasn't from the womb, baby ok. Had my 12 week scan this week and all still going well. Hope this gives you some hope and good luck with your pregnancy Smile

That’s really reassuring! I had a MMC last year at 17 weeks so am paranoid and already expecting the worst. I am already so lucky to have had two straightforward pregnancies and two beautiful boys so keep worrying that #3 is pushing my luck. What will be will be 🌈❤️
Good luck with your pregnancy! X

I did a test again, two weeks after my first positive and it was negative so it must have been a chemical rather than any implantation bleeding - I did suspect this. Just wanted to update for anyone going through the same finding themselves in a google black hole looking for some good news or reassurance. Not a good news day but at least I know for certain - in time for a massive gin with dinner!

Hey, sorry to hear that :( I had a chemical at 5 weeks and yeah physically it wasn't bad at all, but still rough to go through. Hope you're good and enjoy the gin ;) xx
