Hi I just need some advice...the last couple of days I've had bad earache which is worse on a night. I contacted my GP who said to contact maternity triage (I am only 6 weeks pregnant) the maternity triage said it's not pregnancy related, which I didn't think it was. I contacted 111 online and says to take paracetamol.

I am just wondering has anyone got any advice what to do to ease the pain?

Also I am worrying as I had some ear spray from a previous time and when I've googled about that it says to not use during pregnancy! Its called Otomize. I used some last night and some this morning so really worrying over this!

Could you pop to a chemist and speak to the pharmacist? They would be able to recommend something and probably reassure you about already using otomize. Odd the dr passed you on to maternity triage tbh.

Oh and congratulations!

I would ring the gp back and ask to speak to someone different why on earth they told u to ring maternity god knows. Ear ache is so painful so hope u can get sorted, might just need some antibiotic ear drops

God I had this. Later in pregnancy I think though, bloody murder. Think I took Paracetamol and doctors saw me on a same day appointment which was nice. Can't remember what they gave me, I'd ring back if I were you. It's not really under care of maternity triage, they won't know what to do Confused

Thanks for your replies! I went to my local walk in centre and guess what they have given me the ear spray I was worrying about! Otomize! I said I was worried about taking that because says online about not suitable when pregnant. She got it up on the system they use and there was nothing under 'caution' about pregnancy.

She said if it doesn't help to go back and get oral antibiotics but just don't know how I feel about taking anything whist pregnant. She said I can take x2 paracetamol x
