Cost of giving birth privately elcs

Just wondering how much it costs to have an elcs privately. I can see the London hospitals do packages but they don’t include consultant fees.

Also do you have to have your antenatal appointments at that hospital or can you have local antenatal appointments and scans and just have the birth privately at the London hospital?

We budgeted £20k for ELCS at the Portland, and used most of that.

My antenatal care was with the NHS, it’s very common to just do the birth at the private hospital.

We had a couple of meetings with the consultant first, then the c-sec, then I was in hospital for 3 nights. When looking at costs be sure to look at the package costs, plus consultant fees, plus anaesthetist, plus nightly charge if you need to stay longer than covered by the package.

@Grooticle

How long ago was that? Recent or a few years ago (so I can take into account any price changes!)

I am due to have a c-section on the NHS but the no visiting rules, etc afterwards petrifies me so we've been exploring this too.
