Confused if I'm pregnant or not!

Hello all, I'm new to this forum but read alot of threads over the last few weeks. I'll get straight to it.
I'm confused if I'm pregnant or not, had various symptoms like nausea, bloating, metallic taste in mouth, extreme fatigue and generally just feel different. Had unprotected sex with hubby, I never used to have irregular periods until last few months and so my cycle date is unknown to me now!! I have had a 2 day bleed which is very odd, never had this before. Day 3 when I took tampon out it was completely clean which is also unheard of. Day 4 and 5 I had brown discharge (sorry tmi). Took a pregnancy test a day before I thought I would be on and it was negative. Then I've taken another this morning first thing this time, which is 2 days after the brown discharge and again its negative.
Is it me? Am I looking for things that simply aren't there? These forums are great but also giving me false hope maybe as some women have said they've had to take 5 or more tests to get a positive result. Also some haven't bee positive until 16 weeks!!
We weren't planning on starting a family, but now it's a possibility, I'm consumed by the thought of it and was genuinely gutted when I got both BFN.
Also been taking Folic Acid as I ha e B12 deficiency and was worried about defects, but apparently these have side effects similar to pregnancy symptoms. I just don't know what to think and hoping someone out there is going through this too??
Thanks for reading xxSmile

Hey, sorry you're going through this. Maybe try a FRER as they're the most sensitive or test again in a few days. I doubt you'd get so many symptoms as you describe so early on in a pregnancy. Good luck x

@Orford83 If you had unprotected sex then there is always a possibility. When was this because if you do a test 2 weeks after when you could have got pregnant that will give you a pretty reliable answer.
Like pp i don't think you'd get so many symptoms this early on, the symptoms are an effect of the hormones rising... which would be detected on a test if they were strong enough for you to experience them.
Honestly the month I got pregnant I felt fine! Didn't get symptoms until about 6 or 7 weeks.

@biscuit13 I reckon I'd be around 5 weeks if my dates are right, but I'm guessing really. I've read some do experience these symptoms that's why I'm confused. I know everyone is different. I guess time will tell later this month! It's just frustrating coz you sort of want to put it to bed when you get a negative, then you read that loads of women have had negatives for weeks and weeks so it's always a question of "well am I?". Thanks for your comment though, it's nice to hear that it's maybe in my head

Hi @Orford83

Fingers crossed you get the news you want.

I'm sorry but I have to be honset in that with me anyway I have been through the same many times with so many different symptoms that made me definitely think I was pregnant and was always so annoyed at my negative tests, when I eventually got my last bfp ( now 17 weeks) it took a while to get any symptoms the first being sore boobs and cramps that felt like a period!. I know its cliché but what will be will be and no amount of testing will changr it. If you don't get a positive take a positive thought from this that you now know starting a family is something you would like and go from there .

I do wish you all the best tho xx

@Emsnewmum aw thank you. I'm residing to that fact that it is what it is. Don't want it to consume my thoughts as that's not healthy. Stay safe x

I know you do see stories about people taking a long time to test positive but I think it's actually pretty rare in reality.

I've had 3 PG - 2 early losses and this PG now 31 weeks. With my 1st PG I had the symptoms you are describing apart from fatigue. Unfortunately the symptoms continued after I lost the baby - 6 weeks after my MC I was still getting "morning sickness" (I had mild/moderate nausea that lasted all day). My Dr suggested I stop taking folic acid for a few days to see if that made a difference (I was still taking as TTC) and it did - 3 days later I felt fine. My MS in this pregnancy has been a lot more up and down and a lot worse than what the folic acid caused which was more like a constant sick feeling and it didn't start until 6-7wks PG for me. Although like you say everyone has a different experience.

I don't want to be negative and I obviously hope you get the baby you're hoping for but it seems more likely that you aren't pregnant right now.

@BlueberryPancake21 I'm sorry to hear of your previous losses, I can't imagine what that was like. Amazing news on your new pregnancy. I wanted honest answers and all seem to be the same so I'm just going to move on and see what happens. Good luck xx
