First baby movements - sporadic?

So I'm 19 weeks preggo and since about 16.5 weeks I've had days where I've felt the first flutters of baby movement - on some days it felt like she was right at the surface of my tummy! It feels like some days I can feel her really obviously and other days like today I can barely feel her, if at all!

Just wondering if this is normal in the first few weeks of feeling things - is it normal to go a day without any 'obvious' movement? Appreciate she may be moving when I'm just going about my day or sleeping, and that it'll likely depend on which position she's in as to how much I feel her.

I just think it's just confusing that I felt her so strongly on some days and then not at all on others. Is this typical with it being so early on?

At this stage i think its normal for movement to be sporadic and to not feel much for longer periods. Baby should start getting into some sort of pattern by 24 weeks but still not uncommon to.have slightly quieter days. Tho if you are concerned defo speak to your midwife.

I’m 28 weeks pregnant with my first and I didn’t feel any movement until around 24 weeks because I have an anterior placenta. I now feel movement every day but very sporadically, there is no kind of pattern.
As PP said I think at 19 weeks movement can be sporadic. If you have any concerns though don’t hesitate to speak to your midwife or maternity triage unit. They have always told me to contact them if anything changes or I’m worried.
Good luck.

I'm almost 24 weeks and this exact thing has been concerning me. I've felt movement since around 17 weeks. It was sporadic flutters and bubbling, but it doesn't seem to be getting more frequent, in fact I'd say I feel it less. Everything you read says by week 24 there should be a pattern, but there is no pattern for me. My last scan was 10 days ago, and everything was fine.

I'm going to call the midwife on Monday for my own peace of mind, but when did everyone start feeling proper movements that were in a pattern?

Im over 25 weeks. I am defo not in a routine but I can defo identify 2 times during the day she is more active than usual. Around 6 in the evening and the early hours of the morning 3/4 I always tend to feel her loads, this is maybe her begining some sort of routine. Apart from that it is very different and sporadic. Some times i can feel her as soon as i wake up, others not for hours.

I started feeling mine about 17 weeks, very sporadic at first and no proper routine until 31 weeks. I ended up at the MAC at about 24 weeks because I hadn't felt her for a day but everything was fine.
It is worrying when you have quiet days but I think it's quite normal early on. Once at about 32 weeks the pattern should stay about the same.
