Hey, so I went to A and E for an emergency scan as had 4days of spotting. Gynae examined me said cervix was looking perfectly healthy and am not showing signs of an upcoming miscarriage.

Went for a scan where I was told that there was a 5-6 week old embryo but no heartbeat could be seen (baring in mind I tested pos on the 8th dec and assumed I was nearly 12 weeks) so that was a shock.

I have to go back for a follow up scan in a week as everyone kept saying things could well change and the baby could have grown etc etc. Now I am pretty sure nothing will change due to the dates but just want to know if anyone else has been in a similar situation, am not coping with the news well and just don't know what to think

I have been in this exact situation, I should've been 7-8 weeks when there was no baby but a sac measuring 4-5 weeks. Sonography told me I must of had my dates wrong but deep down I knew I hadn't.

I continued to spot, I had an internal scan a few days later that showed the yolk sac still in tact and then about a week later I had more bleeding following by heavy cramps and then unfortunately went on to miscarry.

It was one of the hardest things I've ever been through, if this is the case for you I can recommend lots of chocolate, hot water bottles and take time for yourself. If you can have any help or anyone to stay with you that really helps (it did for me)

I hope this isn't the case for you OP. Sending a virtual hug Thanks

If you tested positive 8th dec then it sounds like a missed miscarriage unfortunately.
Unless you were pregnant, lost it and fell pregnant again in january?
I think you should prepare yourself.
Been in a similar position but by my dates I wasn't as far along.
I did end up miscarrying naturally two weeks after spotting started.
I wish someone had been straight up with me at the EPU but i guess they have to do the follow up scan to confirm.
It's awful.
Hope you have a diff outcome obviously.
Goos luck x

As a pp said, unless there’s a possibility that you lost it and fell pregnant again, then it does sound unfortunately like a MMC.

I got my bfp on 11th January and measured 5+5 at a scan yesterday where we saw a heartbeat. So a pregnancy a whole month older than mine should definitely be showing further along with a heartbeat.

Sending hugs and hope it’s a new pregnancy, but I’d try to prepare for the worst.
