Sounds so weird but first time mum here! I live in England and I'm due at the start of July! Can anyone tell me... how would you dress a new born if the weather is hot? Day time and night time. And also what clothes for baby should I take to the hospital with me? Thanks In advance! X

Bodysuits and sleepsuits are easiest for newborns. Add a cardigan and blanket if its cooler.

Vest, sleepsuit, hat. Cardigan if it's getting chilly in the evening. Blanket available just incase

My daughter was born in June and I had her in a long sleeved vest baby grow, cardigan, snowsuit hat and mittens plus blanket

I just thought something so tiny would be cold midwife told me to get half her clothes off before I left Blush

The advice I was given is dress them in the same layers you have on plus one. So if it's a warm day and I'm wearing 1 layer then I put my DD in 2 layers. I also always carried a cardigan and blanket if she got chilly.

If you go on the nhs website it gives you lots of advice on what to dress your baby in for different seasons and bedtime.

Bodysuit, sleepsuit, cardigan, hat, thin blanket and layer as needed.

Bodysuit plus sleepsuit. Once the seat is strapped into the car, see if you need to add a thin blanket over the straps. If it's chillier, put a hat on before leaving the hospital to walk to the car.

Night time - don't have the heating on overnight. Again, bodysuit and sleepsuit then into a thin swaddled or a 1tog sleeping bag depending on baby's weight. If it's a balmy night, go for a long sleeved bodysuit and no sleepsuit if in a sleeping bag.
