Could this be post partum related? Please read.

Hi there,

This evening, I went to the toilet and felt as if I had maybe taken my first period after giving birth 8 weeks ago. I noticed this tissue down the toilet, but had no bleeding, even when wiping? I actually put a glove on to get it so I could have a look (sorry I know it’s so horrid, I’m embarrassed at even posting the photo but I just never experienced anything like this after having my first child), I had some mild cramps, nothing painful, just uncomfortable. I did think a couple of days ago that I might be taking a urine infection but it hasn’t come to anything and I feel fine now where that’s concerned. I’m overdue my smear test but have already been told to wait to 12 weeks post birth so I still have another month. Is this postpartum related or something else? I had a completely straight forward pregnancy and labour. No stitches, no huge blood loss during or after, can anyone help? Thanks for reading.

They are quite big bits of tissue. Can you phone your health visitor? Could be an issue.

I wonder if there might be something left from when you gave birth? Worth getting it checked out, if only to put your mind at rest.

That was my thoughts Tokyo and it can be very dangerous if there are retained tissue elements.

As the above posters said i would defo ring your HV and get it checked out

Thanks everyone. They were thorough with placenta after birth, showing it to me and talking me through it etc, but really what else could it be (if it is post-partum related). It’s just strange that I haven’t had any bleeding with it. Thanks for all your replies.

Have now had a tiny bit more tissue, and what looks like an implantation bleed. Assuming this is a start of a period as after DD1 it took 8 weeks to return...
