Constant brown spotting for the last 3 weeks :(

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some reassurance :(. I am currently in my second pregnancy, my first ended in a mc. Going from my last period I should be around 9 weeks however I had irregular periods before falling pregnant and was not tracking ovulation so I have no idea when I actually ovulated. I have had some brown spotting/discharge for the last 3 weeks. Pretty much since finding out I’m pregnant. I also have quite a bit of cramping, nothing too painful just worrying. I went to my EPU a little over a week ago to check that everything was where it should be and thankfully it was but too small to see any heart beat. I am due back in a few days for a follow up scan to make sure that baby has grown. I also have fresh red blood coming from my vagina when I poo (sorry tmi) I have checked and it’s definitely from my front not my backside, so I’m panicking a little. My last pregnancy I had brown discharge, went for a private scan at what I thought was 8 weeks but in fact 5+5, seen the heart beat and everything was fine, continued to spot a little and then had a bit of red blood, went to my epu and was told the baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks, so the thought of seeing the heartbeat on my next scan still isn’t filling me with confidence. Has anyone ever experienced brown discharge/spotting for this long and bleeding when you poo and went on to have a successful pregnancy. Not sure I’m made of strong enough stuff to go through another miscarriage

Hi, I'm having similar to this, know the post is older, but wondering if you had any updates. Have a scan booked for Thursday, feel like I might go crazy before then. Hope you are ok

Keen for an update aswell as sounds a little similar to my own experience.
It's still early days for me but I have had brown spotting on and off for weeks. On Sunday, it progressed to bleeding (had to wear a couple of pads that evening, rather than just light spotting) and cramping. I thought it was over. It didn't get any worse and began to taper off but I called EPU and they said they would scan me on Wednesday. Baby was there, with a heartbeat and actually measuring 2 days further along than I thought I was by LMP. I've since still had the brown spotting, really only when I wipe. It does seem to be particularly when I strain to empty my bowls too.

I had similar didn't realise I was pregnant though. Because I was brown spotting and bleeding for a very short time at the time of my period. Eventually I found out i was pregnant and when I went for a scan it was ectopic. I would of been 9 weeks.

Background history is we had infertility. First child was via ivf so didn't think it was possible which is why I didn't realise I was actually pregnant. I didn't have any pain or cramps which surprised me as I thought I would of done in the circumstances.

Personally any type of spotting I would get looked at now.

oops Bowels* not bowls!

I had this! It turned out to be a haematoma. It reabsorbed on its own by week 12. I first noticed the blood after a bowel movement too, so tried to make sure I wasn't straining. I stopped exercising and any heavy lifting and all settled down Smile

@Rachw85 @Trinacham everything turned out fine, I have no idea where the blood/brown discharge was coming from. Midwives couldn’t see any cause when they scanned me. I’m now coming up 30 weeks on Sunday and have my 4d scan to see little ones face tomorrow! I haven’t had any discharge/spotting since around 12 weeks so whatever it was has sorted itself out. Hope everything is ok with you
