Couldn't get the NT measurements

Has anyone had anything similar? I had my 12 week scan yesterday and baby wasn't playing ball at all, they were right under my placenta and wouldn't move despite me going for a walk and shaking my hips! They said everything else looked fine and baby was kicking it's legs the whole time! But they couldn't measure the fluid behind the neck so I'm going back for the blood test next month? I'm trying not to worry too much!

Had exactly that 4 weeks ago! Baby was jumping around so much, wouldn't sit still. I was 11+4 at my scan and they said they wouldn't repeat, so instead I was offer the quad screening for Downs but haven't had anything for Edward's or Pateu now. Just one of those things

I had exactly the same scenario. It was fine, I got the blood test results within about a week.

Had a similar issue at the 20 week scan where they couldn’t see the heart very clearly so went back a week later.

Both times there was absolutely nothing to worry about - sometimes babies are just awkward!

Thankyou both! I’m not overly worried about having to wait but it’s nice to here I’m not the only one in this position! Doesn’t matter what stage you get to in pregnancy, it always feels like there is something to worry about!

I had similar. Baby was upside down and they will only measure if they can get the baby the right ways up! I'd never really realised that all 12 week scan photos have the baby lying with its back to the bottom of the paper - seems it is for a reason! My 12 week scan picture has my baby looking down the page.

I had the 16 week bloods, but I also paid to have a NIPT (Harmony) test privately because I am old and it was an unplanned baby number 4, so if we were looking at serious disability I would rather have known in advance. It was very reassuring to have the NIPT results.

I had the same thing, they couldn’t do the measurement so I only got the blood test and then at the 20 week scan it took 3 attempts and a couple of walks to get a good view of the heart. He was clearly just being awkward. He’s a very healthy 3 year old now.

It’s really common.
