Clear blue test showing 3+ when should say 2-3

Wondering if anyone can help. I am 4+ 3 days today, there is no way I can be further along. I done a clear blue test today and it came up 3+ weeks. I’m now panicking something is wrong as my HCG levels must be high. Did anyone else get a higher reading on the clear blue? X

Yep I got 3 + at 4 & 3 too. Then the next day it was 2-3 and would hover between 2-3 or 3+ until 4&5. Don’t worry it’s not something to be concerned about.
I’m now 11 & 5 and all is well :)

Oneandabean · 27/01/2021 10:03

They’re really not that accurate, don’t stress

THNG5 · 27/01/2021 10:07

Really not accurate. I had the opposite. Took forever getting a 3+. Baby is now 6 months old.

ShowOfHands · 27/01/2021 10:08

Yeah, they're not accurate enough for it to mean anything and given that you're only 4 days from a 3+ reading being accurate, coupled with implantation times, hcg concentrations, natural variations between women and the absence of a scan to confirm dates, it's only really possible to read the test as answering one question. You are pregnant.

Congratulations.

Spaghettiamaretti · 27/01/2021 10:28

I always got a higher reading in all 3 of my pregnancies, all were fine.

Kellyjg123 · 27/01/2021 10:56

Did you show 3+ before you was 5 weeks? Xx

ivfbeenbusy · 27/01/2021 11:27

To be honest they've always been accurate for me when predicting something wasn't quite right but tended to be more the opposite in that they'd take too long to get to 3+. I didn't get a 3+ with my twins until the equivalent of 5+0 weeks. A couple of people i know who had a very early 3+ had blighted ovum but they were doing IVF so very very definite on conception dates. If this was a natural conception you could easily be a couple of days out on your dates which will make a big difference

gemgem1404 · 27/01/2021 11:32

I would take higher hcg as a good thing. You never know it could be twins 😄

Chelyanne · 27/01/2021 11:33

Someone worrying about a stronger positive than expected is a 1st for me.

Very unlikely to be any issue with that. You may just have concieved slightly earlier in your cycle than expected or be one of those who's hormones peak quicker.
Congratulations and good luck.

MummyLE · 27/01/2021 11:35

I agree that a higher HCG reading is better! I didn't see 2-3 weeks on my digital reading, I jumped straight to 3+ and I'm currently 22 weeks pregnant Smile

Congratulations!

Mummy2O · 27/01/2021 11:36

I had that in the first pregnancy but I was actually 4 weeks further along than I thought. My 'period' the month before had been an implantation bleed and I hadn't realised as it was rather heavy.

Chelyanne · 27/01/2021 11:37

I got a 3+ at 5 weeks but I didn't try a digital earlier than that. I only got those ones so it was clear as day for dh to read lol.

I'd had strong positive a week earlier on normal tests and faint ones almost a week before that. Our last successful pregnancy was fraternal twins so higher chance of twins again.

Moominmiss · 27/01/2021 11:40

I also got a 3+ at 4+3, I wouldn’t worry, I took it as a good sign x

Kellyjg123 · 27/01/2021 11:50

Googling is the worst. It is saying it could be a sign of a molar pregnancy or an abnormality. Just wanted to know I wasn’t alone and someone had the same and everything turned out fine x

Kellyjg123 · 27/01/2021 12:03

@Moominmiss how many weeks are you now? Was everything ok? X

You've missed a period, your pregnancy test is positive, stop stressing over it

Isawthathaggis · 27/01/2021 12:10

I had that because I was having twins!

Moominmiss · 27/01/2021 13:18

@Kellyjg123 I’m still only 5+3 weeks now, so extremely early.

I’ve had 4 miscarriages in the last 12 months and the thing that gives me hope is that with them my lines and tests were never as strong as early as this time.

I do have a very early scan booked for 6 weeks so I’m hoping I’ll at least see it’s in the right place.

SunnySideUp2020 · 27/01/2021 13:28

If you want to know your hcg levels you need a blood test.
Urine tests are to confirm a pregnancy not date it.
Also, hormones levels vary greatly from women to women. So again, unless a doctor was concerned about your bloods i wouldnt rely on google!
You're pregnant! Try to enjoy it :)

Kellyjg123 · 27/01/2021 13:44

@Moominmiss that’s great you have an early scan. Can you let me know how it goes please to put my mind at peace xx

Hi @kellyjg123 I had a 3+ reading at 4+2 and had ALL the sane worries as you because I googled. Im now 11 weeks and I had a scan at 7 weeks due to bleeding - one baby with heartbeat measuring exactly as it should! So the strong hcg was a good thing in my case! Now I just need to crawl to my 12 week scan, it can't come soon enough!

Mondaymonday249 · 27/01/2021 20:14

*same worries

Kellyjg123 · 27/01/2021 20:23

@Mondaymonday249 honestly you don’t know how much your comment means right now. I have been a mess all day, I really hope I have the same outcome as you. Thanks so much for messaging xx
