Went for my growth scan at 32wks. I’m high risk as it is. Baby measured 5.2lbs. Which the doctor was concerned about. How reliable are the measurements? I would like to think they are accurate due to the doctor being a bit worried.
Please could I have some advice and opinions.
Thank you x

Thanks everyone. I’m not worrying it’s just that certain family members are making me loose trust in the doctors. Going to wait till next scan and then get ready from there. Thank you everyone xx

In contrast to some for me my growth scans were accurate
, every two weeks with both dd and and Ds. ( these were every 2 weeks from 26 weeks)

With both I had scans a few days before they came, and both were spot on to within an oz. Both had tracked at 2nd percentile and were born at second percentile.

I think pre natal care here in the uk is amazing, I couldn’t have been carried for enough during both my pregnancies. (Post natal is a diff story 🤣🙈)

@Oh12lookanothernamechange1234
I couldn’t agree more with the amount of care given to me through my pregnancy. As I’m high risk they have been checking on me every week even through a phone call to see if everything is good how I’m feeling and if I need any more meds.
Will have to wait and see at my next scan

My sister had her Baby in October and was tested for diabetes because the baby was measuring big, turns out she had Polyhydramnios causing her bump to grow quite big quite quickly and when she was born was only 6lbs 11oz!

@JMassey it’s not the size of my bump. It’s the size of the babys measurement.
They didn’t measure my bump as I had a scan.
Just going to wait till my next scan but I’ve spoke to the doctors at the hospital and he said yes it’s accurate it could be a few ozs off but yeah she is a big baby. And from my graph it’s over the 97th centile that’s why they have to take precautions now.

Hey! Apologies to bother you so long after thr birth of your bubs, but can I ask of the doctors were right about your baby's measurements in the end? Did the birth weight match the consultants' expectations, i.e. a large baby?
