Recommended aspirin for preeclampsia risk- sisters with same risks haven't

I'm in my first pregnancy and my mum had preeclampsia, so I've been recommended to take aspirin after week 12 as I have 2 moderate risk factors.

My sister has a one year old and didn't get told to take any when she was pregnant. My other sister is pregnant for the first time too and hasn't been told to take any (although she forgot about my mum having it so hasn't told them yet, I'm curious to see if that changes when she tells them). I live in England and they live in Wales- could this be the difference?

Are you taking aspirin for the same risk factors as me or not? As it's been recommended I will take it but I'm confused about the different advice.

I'm taking it 150mg
Since 8 weeks
I had pre eclampsia with my daughter
I would take it if I was you. It won't harm and I've had no side effects from it

Baby all ok at scan yesterday at 20+4

My cousin and I have the same ethnic background, I had to have the glucose tolerance test and she didn't (she's bigger than me so higher risk?). I'm pregnant with my second with a different hospital and this one does it differently, the look at your booking bloods and based on they decide to to the GTT.

Different hospitals have different criteria, all in london but hers was a different trust to my two.

(Ethnic background was why I had to have it, no other risk factor)

My sister and my mum had pre eclampsia, so I've been advised to take aspirin too. It might just be that different trusts have different advice OP, and that's why your sisters haven't been told to take it too (assuming you don't live nearby each other)?

Sorry OP just re-read and can see you're in England and your sisters are in Wales. I think that would explain why you've been given different advice :) I'm taking the aspirin as directed x

I was also told to take asprin (150mg) as my mum had pre-eclampsia and it’s my first child. Currently 33 weeks and all is looking good ☺️
