Pregnant but period pain when would have been due

Hi,

I’m 8 weeks pregnant today, I would have been due my period today if I wasn’t pregnant.

I’ve been having some stomach pains for the the last few hours, similar to what I would have when due on.

I had a MMC last October so I analyse every symptom or lack of!

Does anyone else have any period pain when they would be due on? I usually get some cramps each day but today just feels a little crampier.

Thank you in advance xx

Hiya, I didn’t have them more when period was due but I did have them up until I was about 10 weeks . Some days were worse than others and used to worry me but everything turned out ok . X

Pipperleen · 24/01/2021 12:04

Same as PP - had them for a while.
Felt exactly like a period coming on to me, just more stressful. Everything was fine.

Hi @Reeva1988

Thank you for the message :)

I hope this is just one of those days and that it all works out ok.
X

@Pipperleen

It does just feel more worrying as I would be due on today and I feel just like I’m due on. Hoping the cramps calm down over the day 🤞🏼x

I had period pains and a small bleed for my first two missed periods 8 and 12 weeks with my second. It's quite normal apparently.

Mseddy · 24/01/2021 12:09

I'm 7+4 and this morning I literally googled wether period type cramps is OK! I have suffered a previous loss too and I think it just takes over my mind!! But today we are pregnant! Our babies are loved. That. All I keep telling myself!

teuer · 24/01/2021 12:11

I got pain and bleeding for the first 3 months at just the time my periods would have been due. That was back in the day before home tests and I honestly didn’t know I was pregnant until around 4th month. I thought I had really bad pmt and a sickness bug that wasn’t clearing!

CherylLW · 24/01/2021 12:19

@Spanglebangle thank you for the reassurance, it’s much more calming when someone has been through the same or similar and things were ok.

@Mseddy I love that, so positive and you’re right! Sorry to hear about your previous loss but so lovely to hear of your positive outlook.

@teuer I sometimes wish I didn’t know until later on. I found out at just before 4 weeks so I feel I have longer to worry. Thank you for the reassurance 😊

I always thought I knew I’d be pregnant but I can’t believe how similar the pregnancy paid are to period pains! They tricked me to be honest!

Before I knew I was pregnant , I was so convinced my period was coming that I was booked in for a spa day and as I was having my massage all I could think about was getting off the massage table and coming through on to my bikini! I didn’t test til I was a week late as had such bad period pains x

Littlepip02 · 24/01/2021 12:29

I had exactly the same, I also same as you previously had a MMC with twins so was worried all the time.

I now have a 2 month old baby boy 😊 everything will be fine! X

CherylLW · 24/01/2021 12:31

You’re right, they are so similar! To similar in my opinion!!

I have pains most days but nothing too bad. Just today feels like a period is coming, it’s tricky as it would normally be coming today if I wasn’t pregnant.

These signs and symptoms like to keep us on our toes!
X

@Littlepip02 That’s such lovely news, congratulations on your little boy. Sorry to hear about your MMC, any loss definitely does fill you with worry.

Thank you, I hope it’s just me overthinking....as normal X

My hormones still seemed to fluctuate with DC1s pregnancy at the same time I would have had a period.

This pregnancy I have been getting lots of cramps, if you’re worried ring EPU for a quick chat

Littlepip02 · 24/01/2021 12:34

I understand you over thinking, I was exactly the same, try and relax and think it’s just your little one growing 😊 Maybe an early scan in a few weeks might put your mind at ease? X

cautiouscovidity · 24/01/2021 12:35

Not cramps but I did have some bleeding each time a period would've been due. A big bleed at 4 weeks (in fact I thought it was just my period), 12 weeks and 16 weeks (also a bit like a period - lasted a few days). Some spotting at 8 weeks.

Mylittlesandwich · 24/01/2021 12:38

I had quite a bit of early cramping (and running to the loo to check) I also had a substantial bleed at about 9 weeks and a smaller one later on. I was so upset, I was absolutely certain I was miscarrying again. But I didn't and DS is 14 months now. It's the most stressful time but hopefully everything will be ok.

CherylLW · 24/01/2021 12:50

Thank you for all your reassuring words everyone, you’re right it’s such a stressful but exciting time.

I booked a scan last week and I’m due to have it this Wednesday so hopefully that will relax my mind a bit. I’m a bit worried as the last time I had a scan was when they told me I’d had a MMC but I know every pregnancy is different.

I’m currently isolating as I was in contact with a positive Covid case and that’s not over until Tuesday so that is also a worry as I wouldn’t get asked to come in to check I doubt.

So glad everything worked out for you all Xx
