What type of Care did you re
ceive in a second pregnancy?I'm 20+2 second baby.
Daughter born at 35+3 after induction for pre eclampsia.
She was absolutely fine and weighed 5 pounds 1 ounce.

So far I spoke to a consultant earlier on in my pregnancy who said I'm at increased risk of pe again but its still less likely I won't have it again.
She said they will scan my placenta at 20 week scan and if it looks like it's not functioning as well I'll be at even more risk and require closer monitoring.
If all ok I'll see a midwife as normal unless I develop symptoms of pe I'll be referred to the hospital.
I'm on 150mg aspirin daily. BP fine at last midwife appointment at 16 weeks.
Just a bit nervy as I get further along it could rear it's head again.

I Also have sleep apnea which I treat using a cpap machine. I was undiagnosed with my first baby but doctors seem unconcerned About this

I didn't receive any extra care, all I got was absolutely no understanding from midwives at appointments about the ptsd I had from my first birth with pre eclampsia pre and post delivery.

I had high blood pressure with all subsequent pregnancies but not until.34/35 weeks and all induced early 37/38 weeks and all healthy and well. Only has pre-eclampsia with first. I recall taking asprin too, but not with all 3 subsequent pregnancies, I dont really think I was given any special monitoring until.last month when blood pressure started jumping up. Hope that helps

I had it in my first pregnancy - it was a bit weird as I was swollen from about 25 weeks but all other things fine so I didn’t worry, PE wasn’t diagnosed. Then when I was 2 days overdue I felt like shit and had protein in my urine, baby was 9lb 2oz but my BP was ridiculous, baby born with forceps and I had a huge bleed. I stayed on BP meds for months after.

I was on the aspirin for my 2nd pregnancy, I think I had a couple of extra MW appointments just for general checks and was under the consultant - but when I saw him at 36 weeks he said that was because of the bleed rather than the PE, so who knows?Thankfully it didn’t happen again and 8lb DD was born 2 days late with a much more relaxed labour!

Good luck with everything!

I had no extra care in my second pregnancy. But I had consultant care with the 3rd and 4th and lots of 2 weekly hospital appoints and scans. I never really saw my midwife for my fourth. It was all with the consult apart from 2 that I remember
