Pregnant, still breastfeeding 13mo and want to wean!

Hi all,

I’ve just found out I’m pregnant (unexpected but happy surprise!) and I’m still bfing my 13mo.

I really want to wean her, I’m really morning sick and every time she latches I feel a wave of nausea. I also want her to be well off the boob by the time baby arrives.

Problem is, she was a Velcro baby so boob became her everything. Never took a dummy, we co-slept for 6mos and she refused a bottle.

She went to nursery at 9mos and still refused bottle. But when she’s home with me I feed her to sleep for every AM/PM nap and she has a proper drink first thing in the morning and night time. She eats solids really well.

I literally don’t know how to stop. I’ve got a preschooler so feed for nap gets her down really quick so I can spend time with him, if she wakes in the night boob gets her to sleep almost immediately and I literally wouldn’t know how to get her to sleep at nighttime if she didn’t have boob.

I know I need to rope in DH, but as soon as she really really goes for it when she doesn’t get boob - he gives in. And I don’t blame him, it’s horrible!

Please help! 😪
