Possible TMI - scar tissue and tampon use

Hi ladies

Not sure if this is the right forum to be asking this but here goes.

I had my first baby in July. 1st/2nd degree tearing requiring a few stitches but mainly internal rather than external. No forceps etc required!

I had a period in august post baby (but only used towels) and I've just had my first proper period since coming off the short lived pill however I'm having real difficulty using tampons now!

It’s the same tampax applicator brand I’ve always used since I was 15 so I’m assuming it must be me and internal changes since having a baby and the scarring/stitches because no matter what position I get in to to use the tampon it either doesn't go In properly (sticks out) or gets stuck when I try to pull out the plastic applicator!

Sex with my husband is still a little bit 😳 on first entry so I'm wondering if maybe I have scar tissue build up!

Has anyone ever experienced this or have any advice?

TIA xx

I had an episiotomy and no further tearing (forceps), so only not major damage. I was still quite raw where my stitches had been after 6 months even though they healed well. . Definitely still felt it a bit too much for piv sex. I didn't even try my mooncup until about 18 months or so.

I have an internal scar from a tear from my first birth (19 years ago) and I can still feel how it goes exactly if I try to use a tampon. I had to use pads until I discovered moon cups. Now I don't have a problem

I have internal scaring from my first, I had emergency forceps. Still cannot use tampons comfortably, so towels all the way over here (intrigued by mooncups though)

I had an emcs and still can't use tampons.

Another endorsement of mooncups here! Although I didn’t get periods back for 18 months after birth so maybe scar tissue had stretched/settled by then. Sex was painful for a good year though...
