So I want to know from women who have had both girls and boys if the old wives tales are true about not having morning sickness with a boy??

Or what differences you did notice in your pregnancies between girl and boy ?

Defo not true. Had boy first time round suffered mild nausea and main complaint was headaches through first trimester and start of 2nd and horrific heartburn. Im now 24 weeks with a girl and have had a similar experience the heartburn is wild already 😑 i would maybe say im a different shape this time round but other than that quite similar experiences.

I was hospitalised for 8 weeks with hyperemisis in both pregnancies. I have a boy and a girl. The pattern of sickness was very similar in both pgs.

No they’re not. My sickness has got increasingly worse with each pregnancy. DC1 girl DC2 boy, this pregnancy is another boy and it’s been horrendous 🤢

I've had 4 pregnancies and I have 2 DC. My sickness got progressively worse with each one. I carried a boy and a girl to term and I can remember the cravings and food aversions being exactly the same with them.

Definitely not. I had horrendous morning sickness with both but it was worse on my first (ds) to the point I had time off work.

With dd I craved sweet foods, tangerines especially and ice-cream. My hair got longer and thicker and I looked pretty. With ds I craved salty, spicy food. I looked awful, completely ballooned and was constantly sweaty. Both times I had minimal sickness, with dd I was sick a handful of times in the morning and with ds it was in the evenings. With my current pregnancy I am hungry all the time and have constant nausea. I am not glowing in any shape or form. I am craving meat but then feel sick when I attempt to eat, lord knows what this one is. I also had a super high, very round bump with ds whereas dd was lower and the bump was around my hips.

With my girls I had a bit of morning sickness, SPD and loads of heartburn. With my son I had very little pregnancy symptoms at all. The girls definitely "stole my beauty" as the old wives tales say whereas with my boy people told me I was glowing.

Nausea with my girl, horrendous sickness with my boy.

I've had 2 boys and pregnant with a girl now. Had hg with all of them.

Stoatsandweazles · 17/01/2021 04:36

Oh noooo you definitely get morning sickness with boys. 🤢 My mother has one of each and was actually more sick with my brother. For me, my morning sickness has got worse with each subsequent pregnancy regardless of gender.

DramaAlpaca · 17/01/2021 05:27

I've had three boys. Each time I was pregnant the sickness was worse. When I was pregnant with DS3 the main thing that got me through each day was telling myself I was never, ever, doing this again.
