Just to let you know went into hospital early hours of Thursday morning and gave birth to a lovely baby girl at 9.25 that morning. 7lbs, name Alice.

Labour was extremely painful, blood pressure shot up so had to be moved. In the end had pethadine which wasnt planned but it helped a little. Contractions every minute and no dilation then all of a sudden 4cm and born an hour or so later. Last two stages only 25mins. I felt a complete wimp and made as much noise as poss. But all ok, ds loves her and dad is as proud as can be. She already has lots of pink clothes. Feeding and sleeping well and enjoyed my night of rest in hospital. Im off to put my feet up.

Thanks everybody for all your messages, I will be printing them all off later to keep.

All is going well. Alice is feeding well and sleeps long enough that I dont feel an exhausted wreck (things will probably be different next week when dh goes back to work). Ds is being a perfect big brother and likes to include his sister in most things and is always giving her kisses. I think dd will be spending alot of time in her sling so I can get things done and also spend time with ds. I feel very blessed and proud to have two such wonderful children and so glad we went for more than one.

joe1, well done. she sounds lovely and glad you're getting some rest. my dd's middle name is Alice, it was my grandmother's and one I love.

Joe1 · 02/10/2002 14:57

Thanks Bundle. I must say that dh has been wonderful and it is mostly due to him that I have been able to rest so well, he is an exhausted wreck mind, but I feel good.

yeah, but he gets to have a real 'rest' at work next week

Fantastic news Joe1 - first girl baby I've heard about for ages - all my friends have had boys (as did I!)
The world needs more little pink things...

Awww - sounds lovely, Joe1. Glad you've had a really good week, and are getting sleep and rest. A big 'aww' to big brother giving baby kisses, too
