Hi,

Looking for some advice and support, first pregnancy, clomid stimulation was required due to overt hypothyroidism and Annovulatory cycles.

I thought I was 6 weeks and went to the hospital for a scan as had a fever 38 and right sided pain.

They scanned me and saw a yolksac in the uterus, unsure whether they could see a fetal pole, which should be apparent at 6 weeks.

My hcg level then came back at 26000. Which is way higher than findings of a 5week scan.

Has this happened to others? I have another scan in a week. Now reading online and scared my self with molar pregnancy’s and high hcgs.

Any support would be great.

Thanks xxxx

@LisaJo12 I know this is an old thread but what was the outcome?

They were wrong with the dates, and was actually only 5 weeks so wouldn’t see a
Fetal pole/ heart rate. But that week of waiting for next scan was awful, having been told it’s likely a missed Miscarriage. Scan a week later showed heart beat and fetal pole, was also scanned again at 8 weeks, I’m now 28 weeks pregnant :)

Ah congrats! I’ve had a scan at 5 plus 4 and no fetal pole so was worrying as my hcg high too. Just waiting for another scan. (Mins is Ivf so I’m sure of dates!)

Looking back they said, shouldn’t ever look at hcg levels as diff for
Everyone, but more interested in progesterone levels and whether that
Was still higher or whether that had dropped off. Mine continued
To climb, whereas if
It had dropped off its more likely
To be a miscarriage. Good luck to you 😘🥰 hope it all works out !

@Cream123 I had a scan at 5+4 and had no fetal pole or heartbeat, but confirmed that the gestational sac was in the uterus. I'm also 28 weeks pregnant... so it was all ok.
Things change so quickly in early pregnancy that early scans can often cause more worry than reassurance!

@sillybry yes I realise that now. I had some bleeding and panicked. Waiting for a rescan on Thursday now. Really hope all is well….
Congrats on ur pregnancy x
