Hospital left my b12 deficiency

So this is my third baby, second baby I had anemia & was on medication. They didn't tell me for 5 weeks after they did the blood test & I was quite poorly.

This time around iv let the hospital (where my midwife appointments are now) that it was an issue last time.
They did a blood test at 12 weeks and I never heard anything from them, even had a phone appointment at 16weeks.
At about 19 weeks I started getting really awful pins and needles and put it down to carpel tunnel.
I had my 20w appointment and she asked me what I was taking for my b12 deficiency, I asked her what deficiency, she told me I should of received a letter which I hadn't.
Once again iv been poorly with it, and the pins and needles is down to the b12 issue.

Iv been on the tablets for a week and the pins and needles is spreading to my legs. Is it worth getting in touch with the Dr to see what else they can do?

I think personally it would be worth contacting your doctor. You may need the injection version to help get them back up. This was given to my SIL as a last resort as the tablets weren’t working. Hope you feel better soon xx

I needed the injections in my last pregnancy as my b12 level were so low.. They sometimes try and make you try the tablets for 4 weeks first though before the injections but as your symptoms are getting worse and your levels have been low for so long might be worth asking for levels to be rechecked/ injections started

I think it was 6 weekly injections as a loading dose then 1 injection a month after that
