Hi,

Just thought I would start a thread to share experiences/worries/anything with other mums to be that are in the same area. I know different trusts and hospitals offer different services. Different tiers mean different restrictions. And I like the idea of meeting others and staying in touch throughout.

I'm 30, due 7th September 2021 with first baby following 2 MC in the last 12 months. We've been trying for 2 years.
I live in East Sussex, have an amazing partner and a spoilt dog. Hoping this one sticks so we can complete our tribe ❤️🌈

Why am I worried I sound like a lunatic? I promise I'm not. Just a jittery, nervous wreck that keeps checking her knickers 🤷‍♀️

Hello!
I'm West Sussex and due Sept 2021! It's my first pregnancy after 6 months of trying :) I'm 29 and live with DP, 4 cats and loads of rats so I promise you don't sound crazy!

There is a facebook group for September 2021 due date people as well which is lovely :) but it would be so nice to keep in contact with someone local :)

Jwren1989 · 01/02/2021 18:25

Hi, I'm 9+3 and due Sept 4th! I've had my first midwife appointment today and have been told I'm low risk. I'm in Surrey at the moment but we are moving to West Sussex in the next 2 months- just waiting for our house to complete! This is our first baby so I'm nervous but excited, would be nice to meet people who are due around the same time as me, especially as mother/baby classes probably won't be back for a while! X

VNttc · 01/02/2021 19:25

Hello @Jwren1989 which bit of west Sussex are you moving to? :)

Jwren1989 · 01/02/2021 20:08

Hi! Sorry I'm not sure how to tag names. We're moving to east Grinstead, with any luck by the end of March, fingers crossed. Where are you based? X

VNttc · 01/02/2021 20:11

I'm in worthing so not far at all! One of my loveliest friends lives in East Grinstead! It's so nice in that area! :)

Jwren1989 · 01/02/2021 20:23

I lived in Crawley Down a few years ago, and love the area so I am really looking forward to moving there and making new friends local to the area, as it's my first it'll be nice to experience and check in doing things right with people who are also going through it!

VNttc · 02/02/2021 07:39

It is also my first but always nice to have new friends to bumble along together with whilst we work it all out! You're a week ahead of me, I'm 8+3 today :)

Smallgriff · 02/02/2021 10:02

Hey 👋🏻
I’m East Sussex too, 7w today with my 1st, due 21st Sept.
Got my appointment through for 12 week scan yesterday from BSUH, and have spent the last two weeks playing the ‘I wish I wasn’t sick/why don’t I feel sick’ game...

VNttc · 02/02/2021 10:38

@smallgriff

Thats my favourite game to play too! I'm back on the "I feel sick" train firmly now sadly :(

Congratulations!
I had an early scan at 6+3 due to some spotting and I've got one booked for 9+3 to just see how we're doing :) first midwife appointment today!

Jwren1989 · 02/02/2021 12:20

@VNttc @Smallgriff hi both!
I would like to say the sickness gets easier but.... 🥴
Mine started at 4.5 weeks and was just heaving/feeling sick for 2 weeks then from 7 weeks through to last week I was being sick daily- always at night but feeling nauseous all day.
This week (9+4) I'm only starting to feel a bit more normal..still feeling sick and have to carry some mints with me to get rid of the awful metallic taste out of my mouth- carrots seem to be the best for that! If I overindulge; then I'm sick. So I've figured toast for breakfast, a cheese sandwich for lunch and plain pasta for dinner is helping on bad days and settles the nausea. I've lost just over a stone since I found out I was pregnant but I think that is 95% down to the fact I've stopped drinking 😂

Jwren1989 · 02/02/2021 12:21

@Smallgriff hope the scan goes well! 🙂

VNttc · 05/02/2021 14:14

@jwren1989 I also get sick if I've eaten too much! My nausea has settled down again now which is lovely. Plus my energy levels are increasing which feels amazing after just being in a fog for over a month!

Had my midwife appointment this week and unfortunately looks like I have high blood pressure :( my dating scan is booked for 3rd March but I've got a reassurance on next Tuesday!

How are you guys doing? @smallgriff

Jwren1989 · 05/02/2021 14:44

@VNttc I think I spoke too soon, my ms has been horrendous this week, but the midwife did suggest weeks 9-10 would be the worst and they are certainly proving to be just that. With any luck it'll have stopped come my dating scan in 2 weeks! 🤞🏻 I was struggling to drink water but now I can't get enough of it which I'm glad of as at least I'm staying hydrated! How have you been feeling this week?

Jwren1989 · 05/02/2021 14:44

@Nuttypea @VNttc are either of you showing at all yet? I'm so bloated I look 5 months gone 🥴

Nuttypea · 05/02/2021 16:28

Unfortunately I've had another miscarriage, I'll be taking a break from ttc for a while as my hewrt jsut cannot handle it. Wishing you ladies all the best. Keep safe ❤️

@nuttypea

I'm so sorry this has happened, I hope they refer you to investigate now it's your third one? It's such a shame it has to get to as many as 3 though :( look after yourself and give your doggo lots of cuddles xx

Ilovewatermelon · 05/02/2021 20:14

Hi OP,

I'm due the same day as you and also from Sussex! It's my second child (I have a son who's 3 in May). Only difference is I don't have a great partner, so feeling a it sorry for myself atm which was one of my reasons for coming in here. Nice to have some local support and quite cool due on exactly the same day! Grin congrats on your first 💐

Ilovewatermelon · 05/02/2021 20:23

Omg I am so so sorry OP I read the first meesgae and added my post before reading up. I've tried to delete previous post but doesn't seem to let me so I'm so sorry if that came across as insensitive and sending my deepest condolences to you and your partner. I hope you are getting the right support and I'm sure there are other threads on here you can join to help with that when you're ready too. Sending hugs Flowers

VNttc · 05/02/2021 20:54

@ilovewatermelon so sorry that your partner isn't supportive :( you will find plenty of support here though. How far along are you? How are you feeling? :) x

Ilovewatermelon · 05/02/2021 21:38

@VNttc

Thank you Smile, it's something I should probably be used to now as he's the father of my first but I'm contemplating us officially not being together right now which is a scary thought as I did really appreciate having someone to share those first moments with so we will see how it turns out, maybe it's just a blip. I'm 9 weeks now, have been feeling nauseous coupled with a stomach bug I picked up from my son so have been throwing up on top which hasn't been fun but I think I'm over it now and the MS seems to have disappeared too which is nice! Congratulations on your first 💐 I live right near you in Lancing, its a small world!! X

Jwren1989 · 05/02/2021 21:38

@Nuttypea I am so so sorry to hear that. Sending you so much support and the hope you get through this difficult time for you and your partner xx

VNttc · 06/02/2021 13:43

@ilovewatermelon
Sounds like you know him pretty well and you've got to just do what's right for you and your babies!

At least your morning sickness has gone!
So nice to have someone super local :)

PedrosPony · 06/02/2021 18:13

@Nuttypea I'm so so sorry to hear this. I'm in East Sussex too, and I hope you get the support you need.
