pain at 16weeks. Anyone had this?

Hi ladies I'm 16 weeks pregnant and during the night I noticed I had pain in my left side down around my hip area but more to the front of my tummy rather than the side. The pain has been persistent all day and worse when moving and walking. The only way to describe the pain is it feels like a stitch that just won't go away. I'm not feeling unwell just really sore. Has anyone had this or any idea what could be causing it?

I have this! I had it on the right side at 17 weeks and it went after a few days but now I'm 20 weeks it's been on the left side for the past 4-5 days. Some days it just hurts when I move like get out of a chair, other days it aches all day and the pain is so bad trying to move it's agony to get anywhere, even painful using the clutch driving. I'm pretty certain it's round ligament pain (or similar stretching pains) but any research I did suggested it only lasted a few minutes, like you mine is there all day some days and worse with movement. Have you been sleeping on your side? I found mine was worse if laying on that side so I've had a couple of nights on my right side and it's much better. It does settle with paracetamol and a hot water bottle. Fingers crossed it goes away for us both soon

Thank you for replying. It's a nightmare as simple tasks like just moving is agony. I've been sleeping on my right side but going to try my back tonight and hopefully this eases for us both x

How long did it last?

A few days if I recall correctly.

I'm sure you have already but did they test urine at 16 weeks? I had awful pain from about 6 weeks and it was a UTI. They lost my sample at the booking appt and didn't tell me so I didn't know I had it - the pain was just getting worse and worse and MW told me it was "the uterus stretching". I was terrified the whole time as it felt like abdominal cramping. Through a convoluted set of things happening I ended up giving another sample at 11weeks which showed the UTI. Given antibiotics - still in pain 2 weeks later and tested again. Antibiotics didn't work so given different ones which did work. Got pain again at 18 weeks - sure enough another UTI. And again at 23 weeks. And again at 26 weeks. Honestly I am so careful with hygiene but it keeps happening. At least I know what it is now as soon as I feel the pain!
