Hi all,

Has anyone else had any experience with this?

I'm due to go back to work next week after being off on maternity leave. Its a new practice but within the same business so think I will be okay for maternity leave but just feel so bad having to tell my new boss that I'm pregnant just after being given the job.

I won't tell them until I've had the first scan but just wondered if anyone else has been in a similar position and, if so, how they stopped feeling so guilty about it!

Thank youSmile

I had this, 2 days after leaving my job and a week before I started my new one I found out I was pregnant. I was over the moon and really anxious at the same time. I work as a home carer so because of covid risks I told a senior staff member at 8 weeks and she and the manager kept it to themselves until I was happy for other people to know, which I agreed was after the 12 week scan. They’ve been great so far and were so lovely about it all :) We had been trying for 8 months and I had tests booked to try and find a reason why it wasn’t happening, and then bam, just as I make big decisions to change jobs and go back to college for a year with a view to go to uni, baby is just like ‘helloooo!’ 😂 So other life stuff is now on hold, but that’s fine!
Currently 18 weeks and having 6 weekly meetings and risk assessments with work, they have taken it much better than I expected :)

Yep me! I'm going back to work 12 weeks pregnant from Mat leave and I'm not planning on telling them until I legally have to.. Ie after the 20 week scan! Luckily I'll be working from home due to covid so don't need to worry about hiding a bump. I feel really guilty but I reckon these things happen all the time and I'm not going to put my life on hold because of work. Xx

I started my new job on a Monday on the Friday I had a positive test! I waited until 15 weeks making sure I was out of probation period ❤️
