Bloody show - no labour yet?

Hi all,

I’m 40+3. Had a bloody show yesterday morning and period pains so packed DD off to in-laws and awaited contractions. Since then, nothing! It’s all died down. I was induced last time so don’t know much about waiting for birth etc - is this normal? When is it likely to happen? Am booked in for stretch and sweep on weds but assuming this may not be safe if I’ve already had the show?

Unfortunately it doesn’t mean labour is about to start. It could take a couple of days yet to get going. A sweep is fine it’s only once your waters have gone that they won’t do one.
Don’t be disheartened, things are happening. Try to relax as much as possible to get some oxytocin flowing as that can start contractions. Taking a bath, watching funny movies etc. stay active too, go for walks and bounce on your pregnancy ball if you have one.

Thank you! Trying to relax with manic toddler running around, bless her. Would feel a bit guilty sending off to grandparents again as they’ve been so good already and she’s also fairly clingy at the moment, just want to cause the least amount of stress for everyone 😂

I went into labour exactly one week after the show

Mine was the evening after the bloody show. Good luck! Keep walking about, stairs, etc!

Baby boy arrived at 6.49 this morning after contractions started at 8 last night. Lovely and quick!
