6 weeks pregnant but not viable on scan

Hi everyone!

This is my first post on this forum but I’m writing for a little reassurance. I wondered if anyone has been through what I’m going through and had a successful pregnancy. I should be 6 weeks pregnant but at my transvaginal scan today they told me they could not confirm my pregnancy. Is this normal has anyone experienced anything like this. We are so worried, I have no sickness but very sore breasts, frequent urination and fatigue. They took a blood test at it came back at 1022. I’m so lost and waiting for the doctors to call and let me know where we go but until then wanted to see if any of you went through this. Any reassurance would be so good as I’m so scared right now. After 5 rounds of IVF and a miscarriage last cycle I thought this was the one. :(

@Wannabemum0301

Are you putting yourself at 6 weeks based on your own sums?
What was on screen?

For me, I thought I was 7 weeks, but turned out I was 5, so just saw the dark circle.. no heartbeat obviously. I had to go back two weeks later for them to confirm.

Good luck xx

@cat709 Yes based on my our calculation. They didn’t show me anything on screen re dates. It was all pretty daunting and my partner wasn’t allowed to attend so I ended up not asking anything I should have. That’s exactly what I saw a dark blurry circle. I’m hoping my calculation is wrong and all will be fine. So pleased for you. Thanks so much for the reassurance. xoxo

6 weeks is so teeny tiny anyway, if you're out by a matter of days it can make it impossible to see anything. They should be offering you another scan in another week or two. It's so difficult to be patient in this scenario but there's really nothing that can be concluded at the moment, things sound be much clearer soon. Good luck!

Hi,
I had exactly this and it was just too small to locate yet. I've had 3 miscarriages this year so was very worried but can happily say my pregnancy of unknown location is now bouncing away inside me just had my 12 week scan today and everything is going well! Some people don't get sickness I pray for you that your one of the lucky ones Daffodil
They will probably scan you again in a week or two to check progress
X

Was this an IVF pregnancy?

@Wannabemum0301
It's so horrific to not have your partner with you.
I definitely only had a dark circle until week 6+6 weeks according to nhs (or 8 weeks based on my own calendar!).
As they say - don't give up until the fat lady sings x

Thanks so much everyone, you’re positive stories have made me feel miles better. The ivf clinic just called and they have referred me to the early pregnancy unit and said they will call on Monday. She said the HCG detected came back with a positive pregnancy so they will just have to keep monitoring. She said all could be fine but the chances of miscarriage are more likely. Hoping that I beat the odds! x
