Anxious after dating scan showed baby smaller than it should be at this stage

Hi everyone - my first time on here. I'm pregnant with my first at 42 after meeting the right guy late in life. We had our early dating scan last week. Baby should be 8+2 but scan determined it was only 6+5. The heart beat was also slightly lower than expected. I'm going back on Friday for another scan and am so scared there's something wrong. I had quite bad cramping around weeks 5-6 but none since then and no spotting. Would be so grateful if anyone has similar stories they can share, as I feel very alone right now. Trying to stay positive but also need to prep myself in case it's bad news. Thanks everyone xx

Totally get how you feel! It's a nerve-wracking time especially when you no clue what's going on!

Not quite the same, but at my initial 12 week scan with my current pregnancy, they dated the baby about a week behind and said it was perfectly normal and down to ovulation dates being different than expected.

I would think that lack of cramping and no bleeding is a good sign, wishing you a healthy pregnancy and baby! x
