Ante natal classes worth it online during covid?

Hello,

I recently signed up to Birthing classes to start in March.

Currently they are only doing online courses. I was hoping it would be face to face by March but I'm not too sure now with the new lockdown.

I'm doing an online hypnobirthing course, and the main reason I wanted to do classes was to meet parents.

But I'm worried paying £160 and I won't make the same connections online.

Can anybody else share their experiences with me or give advice if it's worth it or not?

Thanks ☺️

I signed up for online NCT classes (well, they went online) and have mixed feelings about it. I don't yet have the bond with other parents that people tell you about from the classes - it was all over Zoom and a bit awkward, don't really feel I know the other people who took part as we couldn't have side conversations etc. But maybe things will change as our babies are actually born and we spend time on WhatsApp together?

I also don't think I learned much about the mechanics of birth from the class that I didn't already know, so it wasn't helpful in that way, but my partner did get some things from it he found useful.

Not sure about hypnobirthing but I think something like the Positive Birth Company digital pack could be less expensive if you want to try out online classes - it's £29 for their videos and I think you get to join a private Facebook group as well.
