Hi so I was just wondering if anyone had given birth or noes of anyone to have given birth since the new guidance of ' Pregnant women should be allowed to have one person alongside them during scans, appointments, labour and birth, under new NHS guidance sent to trusts in England.' (16th December )

I'm 36 weeks and I have a scan next week and already no my hospital (in the Midlands ) still are not letting partners to scans . And just wondered if anyone had had any experiences as to weather they can join you through your whole birth ? And if so did you both have to have a rapid COVID test in hospital ?
Thank you in advance !

Some trusts are choosing not to apply the guidance. I would ensure you ask if your hospital intends to. Also maybe say which hospital it will be so that others who have given birth at that hospital can comment

No advice but following (My hospital is still saying no partners until you're moved to the labour ward post 4 cm dilated... keep hearing from friends that this can take hours!).

My hospital are only letting partners to 12 and 20 week scans.

I think they can be here for labour and inductions 9am-7pm and then visit 2pm-7pm once baby is born.
