Anyone had a breech baby at 34 weeks that turned in time?

I'm back for another growth scan 2wks on Tuesday.
I'm desperate for this baby to turn head down as had a wonderful birth with my first and really don't want a c-section - but of course would happily have one if it meant a safe and healthy baby.

Yes. Two failed attempts at ECV. Big breech baby. Caesarean planned for 38 weeks. Friday before went to clinic and baby was breech. On Saturday I thought I was having contractions and we were about to ring the hospital if the next one was faster than 5 mins. Then we fell asleep. And all was quiet. Went in for section Monday morning and baby had turned. The consultant said it was my choice and I couldn't justify major surgery. She was therefore blasted out with the help of maternal semtex at 41.5. 8lb 13oz, no stitches, 2 hours start to finish after a bit of a slow start. So it does happen but it did turn the end of pg into a v v long 3 5 weeks.

Yes. Ds2 turned at c36 weeks - it was the longest night of my life as I felt his knees and elbows performing the longest ever somersault. Gorgeous birth three weeks later.

I did! Was so worried but she turned on her own at around 35 weeks. I did a few things at home - lots of bouncing on a ball, kept cushions really high on sofa so my pelvis was tilted forward, did down dog a lot. You still have time to get them to flip and lots of home remedies you can try - have a google. Good luck!

Yes my baby turned around 36 weeks Smile

StaceImpactWfan · 01/01/2021 14:34

2 of mine were transverse/oblique

They both turned by themselves around 37 weeks. Although this baby keeps changing as she can't get head down due to placental problems.

Yup, she turned at 36 weeks.

But then was transverse by 38 weeks. Sorry.

That said my planned c section (and recovery) was amazing and I'm very glad she was born that way.

Yep mine was breech at 36 weeks scan and midwife thought still so at 38 weeks check up and then had turned by 39 weeks !

My DS turned at 36 weeks, I had no idea what was happening but after a day in pain I considered early labour but no regular pattern to the pains, every time he moved I was pain and sick multiple times. I went to Assesment unit, they monitored but sent me away with no advice, they didn’t know why it was hurting. I had a scan booked the next day, where it was revealed he had turned. I wish I had known what was happening at the time.

Other way round for me. Head down at 36 weeks. When I went in to Labour on my due date he had turned transverse (sideways) with a prolapsed arm. By the time they got me on the table to the CS he had flipped again to breech. Very unstable lie.

Aww fab, still sounds like there's time for me (us)!
Thank you for all the positive stories and suggestions...bouncing on the ball will be my New Year resolution!!

Yes, my friend had 3 c-sections (2 of them planned) and is positive. I'm sure it would be fine but would rather avoid surgery if at all possible. Think it's just because my last birth was so good (obviously aware that doesn't mean this one will be!) I had no tears or pain at all. Felt completely back to normal the day after and very active. Plus I have a very heavy toddler that loves climbing on me! Given the Pandemic I'd rather not be stuck alone in hospital either for any longer than necessary. I'm just a worrier 😔
