What should I do? I have been an idiot

So I had an extreme moment of baby brain around 1 hour ago. I was toasting something in the toaster and it got stuck. Whilst still on and toasting I put a knife in the toaster to try and dig it out, this resulted in the electricity shutting off. So so stupid I know.

I am 30 weeks pregnant. I didn't feel any shock but should I be going to the hospital to get checked and to make sure baby is OK? Baby has moved since albeit very small moments in comparison to normal but it has only been an hour since it happened.

Help!

Wow! Great that the power clicked off! Don’t see why you’d have to go to the hospital if you weren’t shocked. Baby should be absolutely fine.

To put your mind at rest I would call / email
Your doctor or midwife.

So you put a knife in a toaster, didn't get an electric shock and are wondering if you need to see someone?

If so - if you didn't receive an electric shock - you don't need to see someone.

If you did receive an electric shock - you would know - and should see someone.

If you weren't electrocuted then you'll be fine as will baby . Very silly thing to do though, you were very lucky op.

It sounds like you were very lucky and the electricity shut off before you got a shock. It's unlikely to have done any harm if you never felt a shock, however, I can completely understand why you would be worried. I would speak to your midwife if you can just to put your mind at rest x

I know it was beyond stupid. I have a habit at doing things without thinking lately 🙈 I am also aware of how lucky I am. Thanks for the advice guys x

If it makes you feel better I did this once OP and I wasn’t pregnant! Flowers

HappyAsASandboy · 31/12/2020 13:46

Get some of these, OP. Then you don't have to remember to turn off the socket when you go fishing for your crumpet.
