Rock hard painful bump

34 weeks pregnant and my bump is rock hard and so uncomfortable. Any movement is causing pain in my stomach and shooting pains to the fanny. I’m on iron tablets so don’t know if it’s constipation or such.

This is my second baby but I never had this with DC1 Confused

Any ideas before I call the midwife?

I had this op when I was about 34 weeks pregnant too! I was so sure I was in labour and it was contractions but turned out to be nothing and just went away!!

Bubs was born at 37+2 (c section) and I'd had nothing else like that! 💙

Thanks for the response boymum how bizarre that you had it at 34 weeks too!! It’s the most uncomfortable thing Sad

Fingers crossed it passes quite quickly.

I'm 32 weeks with twins and my bump is rock hard too - I find it's worse in the mornings when I've laid on my left and the babies shift that side

I called the midwife this morning about literally this. I said I felt like I'd been kicked in the crotch! Apparently I have SPD, or pelvic girdle pain. Makes sense when I've discussed it with her :(

I have had this and was just told it was braxton hicks!

SuperbGorgonzola · 01/01/2021 17:37

My bump used to go hard. I think it was Brixton hicks. Sometimes moving around used to ease it.

Oh sorry meant to update this.

Went in for a check up and they could see ‘tightenings’ on the graph so they checked my cervix - all fine. Baby is happy and pain has now gone, they said it was most likely Braxton Hicks but to keep an eye on it!

Thanks for all responses.
