I'm pregnant with DC3 and just wondering what other people's experiences are with their third baby compared to previous births. My first two were fairly straightforward vaginal births and I'm wondering whether this one will follow the same pattern, although obviously nothing is guaranteed!

Mine was about the same as the second. Also straightforward.

Thank you @RoganJosh. I would be thrilled if it was the same as the last one as it was exactly how I wanted! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

There seems to be a ‘thing’ that third labours are odd, but I suspect people only remember when that is the case. I have a few friends with three and there was nothing to report.

I’m sure it’ll just slither out no problem. Good luck. Grin

Mines was supposed to be a straightforward induction, everything was going as planned until it got to pushing stage, they lost her heartbeat and then discovered she was brow presentation so had to get an emcs, both absolutely fine but glad she was the last!

90 minutes first contraction to holding baby.

I was induced, it wasn't working, so midwife had a look, said I was a couple of cms dilated (common in overdue 3 babies apparently) even though not in labour, so she suggested that she break my waters. It was evening, ward was quiet, I was overdue and keen to get on with it, dh had gone home, we lived 40 minutes drive away. Fortunately I asked her to phone him first. He just made it in in time!

Very easy and straightforward. (and she was 10lbs 7oz)

Quick, easy, knew what I was doing and felt in control, almost enjoyed it... until the crowning as what a whopper she was!!
