Boy or girl...can anyone guess from this scan?

Hi there just been reading about how to interpret scans...curiosity getting the better of me! Does anyone have any guess from our 20 week scan? Baby was so wriggly this is the best pic we could get!

Could you not find out the gender at the 20 week scan?

I'd say a boy!

I’d say girl from skull

@Dorset555 ah that makes sense! You could always book a private scan, that's what we've done. Yeah from what I can see from the nub it looks like a boy but skull is more of a girls skull

We already had one private scan at 9 weeks so not sure if we will indulge in another.. the baby is very big -97th percentile so apparently may come earlier than the 5 weeks...who knows. Would it be more likely to be a boy if its bigger, do either of you know? Thanks!

@Dorset555 boys aren’t necessarily bigger, I was a bigger baby than my brother. You have a maximum of 8 weeks to wait, hold on. Although I understand the eagerness. I’m 36 weeks and really want to know now.

@Oneandabean I think we will end up waiting...tier 4 so trying to stay in as much as possible! 36 week so close now hope you're feeling ok!

I’d guess girl purely because I’m having a boy and scan looks different to mine! (but I’m terrible at this normally!) Mainly wanted to pipe up to say both myself and my 2 sisters were over 9 and a half pounds. In fact one of my sisters was 11 something! This was back when you couldn’t find out and my mum said she made the mistake of assuming she’d be a boy so could be either 😊
If you really want to find out pre-birth then book a scan, if not you’ve not got long to go!
I’m 34 weeks at the mo too so good luck for babies arrival! ☺️

Thanks @Piccalily19! I'm due 7th feb how about you? Hope you've been feeling ok! OK so big baby could easily be a girl - i think we will just wait and have one big surprise...seems so far the results of online poling are inconclusive! Still fun to ask tho so thanks guys!

They said girl for me but also that the bits might be " scrunched up". I'm going to ask at 37 week scan

@MissKhan1990 I guess they never know 100% - when is your 37 week?
I just realised maybe people can tell/get clues from out 12 week scan too...maybe ?!

I'm looking forward to not being pregnant but also feeling not quite ready to have a baby! I need to learn how to look after one first
I guess its a learn on the job type thing!
