Pregnant with 2nd child

Thought I'd create a group for anyone who is currently pregnant with their 2nd child.

I just found out I'm pregnant, so nearly 4 weeks and I have a 23 month old.

How far along are you and what age is your 1st? Smile

Hi there! I just found out yesterday 😍 this is my 2nd. Our daughter will be 3 in January. Going to tell partner tomorrow xxx

Bleepers · 24/12/2020 07:48

Im nearly 6 weeks pregnant and have a DD who is nearly 14 months old. Happened a bit quicker than anticipated but after a bit of shock, I'm now excited and worried that things won't go according to plan-

loumsc · 30/12/2020 16:29

What are you planning to do about a buggy? I'm not sure if we should buy a twin buggy or If I'll just get a buggy boardHmm

I'd love the out n about nipper but just not sure we'd use it enough to justify the cost!!

Should this not be posted on the pregnancy page rather than conception one- which is usually relating to people trying to get pregnant not those who are already pregnant? Not being funny just a suggestion!

So sorry! I didn't realise..I'll try figure out how to delete this! New to the app and find it so confusing

We've moved the thread over to Pregnancy now for you, OP.

Noornie · 30/12/2020 22:11

Almost the exact same as you! I’m 4 weeks today, with a 23 month old (who will be 2 on the 5th January).

Thinking of just getting a buggy board as DS1 would have just turned 3 once DC2 arrives. I don't fancy the faff of a double buggy.
Fairywings123 · 30/12/2020 22:59

I'm now 16 weeks pregnant with my second, I'm 34 and my son is 13! This one's due June 16th my ds birthday is June 13th! I was 8 day overdue with ds, so wonder when this one will appear 🤐

Alakasam · 31/12/2020 18:40

25 weeks with my second; DS1 will be 2.5 years old when they are born.

Not thinking too hard about the pram issue until little one is here! Will be in a sling on my chest for the first few months on walks mostly; I'll then have to see how 2.5 year old is doing at the time whether we get a buggy board or a new buggy!

loumsc · 31/12/2020 19:12

A sling is a great Idea! I have 2 I used with my DS. Only problem is I had an emergency c section 1st time and I struggled to use a sling to begin with. I'm guessing I'll be told to have an elective section this time. But time will tell!

@Fairywings123 I'm also due on June 16th Grin

My DS is 5 and very excited to be a big brother.

Helenknowsbest · 31/12/2020 20:34

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and have a 17 month old. Safe to say I'll have my hands full come March! X

Fairywings123 · 31/12/2020 20:43

@readyforroundtwo ohhh wonder weather our babys are born on there due dates ey! Grin

DarcyParty · 31/12/2020 20:44

I'm 34 weeks with my second DC, a boy. I have a 3 year old little girl who is very excited (and hopefully due to start nursery before he is due on the 12th Feb!)

This pregnancy has been so much harder than my first one, although that's probably because I'm about 3 stone heavier this time, haha

Has anyone else found it harder this time around?

Fairywings123 · 31/12/2020 20:48

Yes! I flew through my pregnancy with my ds, barring a little indigestion, but this one I've had everything! It's been so much harder, every symptom, exhausted etc, maybe a girl this time round?

readyforroundtwo · 31/12/2020 21:03

@Fairywings123 my DS was 5 days overdue but I am likely to have an ELCS this time round at around 38 or 39 weeks.

@DarcyParty I have also really struggled this time round. I feel OK now, but first trimester I was so incredibly sick it was horrible.

Keyboard91 · 31/12/2020 21:11

I’m 5 weeks pregnant and have a LB who is 9.5 months(!)

ShireMama · 31/12/2020 21:50

Slightly terrified, I have a 10 month old and currently 5 weeks pregnant with number 2....

Milkand2sugarsplease · 31/12/2020 21:57

17 weeks with my second with a 8yo DS. Not somewhere I thought I'd be with my fertility history (DS was our ivf miracle) but beyond excited for him to have a baby brother and us to have another.

ShireMama · 31/12/2020 21:58

@Keyboard91 same as me! What will your due date be?

FTMF30 · 31/12/2020 22:10

@DarcyParty I'm really struggling this time around. My first pregnancy was quite a breeze until the last few weeks. This time I'm nauseous, have a frequent headache and I'm constantly exhausted.

I have two (likely nonsensical) theories for why I'm feeling like this on my 2nd time round. One being that I could be having a girl this time around as first was a boy. Second theory being that the effects of lockdown and months of being quite sedentary has rendered my body quite feeble. I'm trying to be more active, but it's a battle I'm losing terribly.

Rosalie009 · 01/01/2021 08:12

I’m 27 weeks with a 17 month old, DS will be 20 months when DS2 arrives so we’ve invested in a double buggy for dog walks, I never got on great with a sling first time around!

SaraJean21 · 01/01/2021 14:28

I'm 29 weeks expecting DD and DS will be 22 months when she's due! Excited but this pregnancy had been so much tougher than the first. We're going to look into a buggy board but I hope to use a sling for DD to start with and see how things go.

Bleepers · 02/01/2021 12:35

@SaraJean21 in what ways has it been tougher? I'm only 7 weeks but finding the exhaustion tough with an early rising 14 month old to care for! Had hoped it would get easier...
