Hi girls!
So I just found out a few weeks ago I was pregnant, this is a wanted pregnancy so, me and my husband are very happy!
I was thinking I was about 8 weeks pregnant due to my last period. Fews days ago I was bleeding a little bit it, I called 111 and they said its normal etc, 2 days after happened again so I went to ER to check myself and the baby and they said everything looks fine and they booked me a scan for today morning. I went there, and de doctor said she could se the yolk sac and the fetus, she can't see no bleeding everything's fine, but no pulsationa atm. She said it could be because its to early as Im only 5 weeks pregnant, but In my maths Im 8 weeks?
Does it happened to anyone? It's so strange and stressful as now she just booked me in for January!
I can't stop thinking about that.. Anyone with the same experience?

Thank you!! ❤️❤️ Xxxxx

Do you have an idea when you ovulated? If you're calculating due date from the date of your last period that assumes that you ovulate on day 14 of your cycle. I ovulate a week or two later than that normally so even though by period I am 7 weeks I know really I would only be 5.

Also when did you first get a positive test? You won't get a positive much before 3 or 4 weeks pregnant so if you got the positive test more than a week or two ago it might be bad news ❤️

Really hope things work out for you!

Are you very sure of your dates? If you are then it could be that the pregnancy is not viable. Early scans are tricky as things are quite small and it could also be that your dates are a little off, eg perhaps you ovulated late. Fingers crossed for you OP, I've had 7 pregnancies and 3 miscarriages. My first miscarriage I went for a scan at 8 weeks but it hadn't developed beyond 5/6 weeks. I naturally miscarried a week after that scan. The other two losses were at later stages. All the best, fingers crossed for you x

Same here.... early scan today backfired before Christmas and telling relatives ( who I still get to see) . Scan has put me back to 6wk 1/2 days and no heartbeat. I had guessed roughly 7-8. But that is feasible as I have no idea when I had last period as they aren’t regular at all and hadn’t been overly trying to get pregnant. Got negative clear blue digital test on 22nd nov & positive on 26th November, (1-2 weeks) and then a week later @ 2-3 so I think that still fits in? Only just?
So either I’m just later than I thought or bean has stopped growing. Have to go for another scan in 7-10 days aswell . I’m ok about that... just cross I can’t give family a definite yay I’m pregnant. More like yay I’m pregnant but don’t get your hopes up...grrr

Unfortunately I don't!

I had an implant on the arm when I took it off in August my period got messed up. I had my first positive at 17th of November but it was a very faint line. A week later done another one and the line was normal. I didn't feel pregnant at all when I done the first test, apart from my boobs are much bigger, and only 2 weeks ago I started to feel sick, very sleepy etc. Maybe my dates can be wrong as my period wasn't regular at that time? Just hope for the best really 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Thank you 💕 xx

Well, I calculated for the first day of my last period, but my period wasn't regular at the time as I had an implant on the arm and took if of in August n then my period just gt messed up. Maybe thats why? But if the baby has stopped developed at 5weeks I should feel something by now isn't it? As for my calculations I am 8wk+6. Maybe Iv missed something and my dates are wrong.

Im so sorry you went through that, I can't even imagine. ❤️

Thank you xx

Aww. It's awful isn't it! I haven't told any family members yet, I was waiting for my first appointment and make sure everything was fine.

Maybe we have missed something? My period wasn't regular too, probably that's why. My doc said we normally just start to hear the pulsations between 6/7 wk so she booked me in for 4th of January but i can't help with the waiting, its killing me.
I had and implant on the arm (can't remember the name) took it off 25th Agust my period came 3 days after (28th) then next month September, I was hoping it to came on the same date but it came on the 20th and then, on October I haven't waited for my period to came so I did the test 2 days before(17th) and I got a positive but it was a very faint line tbh. I only started to feel sick about 2 weeks ago. I can see my body changing as its not my first pregnancy (Iv got 3kids) and every day i feel more sick. Idk maybe iv missed something.
I also was thinking, for my calculations I am 8wk+6d so if the baby stopped growing at 5wk it's almost 4 weeks inside of me my body would probably exploded it yet? Or I would have pain or sm.
I just really hope everything is fine with you too, we probably are missing something and calculated wrong lol. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽💕

If I were you I'd be expecting bad news but hoping for the best. If you got a positive on 17 November then you would have been minimum 3.5 weeks so should be around 8 weeks now. Are you sure it was definitely a positive and not an evap line or similar?

Scbchl · 21/12/2020 05:39

So say you got an early positive and period would of come the 20th. Youd of been 6 weeks and 1 day by the scan date so could be a few days out in her measurements its literally mm big. Also, even if I go back two weeks from when you got your positive on the 17th I still only make you 7 weeks on Tuesday not 8 weeks?

SunnySideUp2020 · 21/12/2020 11:06

Agree with @Kinsters
Expecting bad news and hoping for best.
Early Miscarriages are very common.
If you had a positive on 17th and some spotting it could be that the pregnancy is not viable. It happened to me exactly same time of year and smae way - i ended up naturally miscarrying on xmas day.
I wish people would have been straight up with me especially at the EPU and told me to expect it as it came as a big shock.

Hope it won't be your outcome obviously. And you get better news in January x

MumToBeMaz · 21/12/2020 13:00

I'm sorry to not bring positive news, but this happened to me back in October. I was 8 weeks but they thought I was just under 6. They booked in an appointment for 7-10 days later because they cant announce a miscarriage unless they have a scan a week apart to check for any growth. I didn't know this until my second appointment when they told me. I thought I was just going in to double-check everything was still ok. I had a lot of bleeding in that time and they confirmed at my second appointment that I was miscarrying.

Dyra · 21/12/2020 14:20

I'm very sorry, but as with PPs I think it's a case of expect the worst, but hope for the best.

I had a similar case where I thought I might be 8 weeks, but after spotting, a scan revealed I was only 5.

As I couldn't be sure about my dates (PCOS, so no period to date from. I'd taken a test on a whim after my boobs started hurting), and there was the smallest possibility I could only be 5 weeks, I was invited back after 10 days for a second scan. I miscarried the sac the morning of the second scan.

I hope everything goes well for you, no matter the outcome. ❤️

calimommy · 27/12/2020 03:35

@Daisy141826 how are you getting on?

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 27/12/2020 09:51

I went for my 12 week scan and they said I was only 10 weeks. Sonographer said it could be due to later ovulation or implantation and nothing to worry about. I’d only just come off the pill so wasn’t sure of cycle length either. Try not to worry, she didn’t seem surprised or say it was unusual. I’m 19 weeks now and all ok so far!
