Hi all,

I've just had a growth scan and my baby is measuring in the 95th percentile at 32 weeks. The doctor said my fluid levels are placenta look fine, but he has referred me for an additional scan and monitoring with the diabetes team.

I've already been tested for diabetes and my results came back fine does anyone know how worried I should be?

Someone's got to have the bigger babies! Don't worry about it. They might test you further for diabetes depending on which measurements are big.

I had this. GD came back negative. Growth scans every 2 weeks just to monitor. Baby arrived perfectly healthy at 39 weeks just under 9lb. Still on the 90th for both height and weight at 13 months.

Growth scans aren't very accurate. My DS was measuring 99th centile and was 7lbs 7 when he was born.

Thanks, your experiences have made me feel a bit calmer Grin

Just heard from the hospital and I have to monitor my sugar levels for a few days starting next week (though the nurse said it's just a precaution).

Fingers crossed he's just a big baby and nothing else is amiss.

@Milkshake7489 I had this horror a few weeks ago, the baby was on the 92nd at the scan. I had to go in for a short glucose test 1hour and another scan. The second scan showed he had normalised in size down to 66th percentile Smile (or maybe as other people have said, scans are just quite inaccurate). However, he had a slightly bigger than average abdomen measurement, which can be a sign of gestational diabetes... well it turns out I failed the 1 hour glucose test by a few points, so unfortunately I have had to do another much longer one today. Ah the misery. All I want is a bloody mince pie but 2020 is threatening to take even that away... good luck, I'm sure it will be fine, lots of people have big healthy babies with no issues.

I've had the same, baby been measuring big since 32 weeks. I've had a negative gtt a month ago but am now having to monitor by blood sugars for 5 days to check again. Current readings suggest I don't have it and baby is just big! I'm being induced 10 days early as a precaution.

Hello

I am having growth scans every month due to my second child was born 3 weeks early and was a 5lbs little munchkin and also due to my bmi

PopsicleHustler · 19/12/2020 06:46

Apparently baby is bigger and I am measuring roughly a week ahead. Currently 36 weeks and just cannot wait. This is my baby number 5. I wish you all the best with your growth scans and a healthy little baby

I was the same! Kept making me do the gestational diabetes test even though I didn’t have any risk factors and in the end my baby was only 7lbs
