I'm only 4wk 4, very early. I'm going for a scan Monday to check that it's in the right place as had a previous ectopic in September with right tube removal.

Anyway! I had a preterm birth; 12 weeks early; spontaneous.

I'm too scared to have sex with my partner! Is this normal? I know it's all safe and tucked up in there but I'm so so anxious at the moment.

I have heard that also if you have had a previous preterm then to not have sex! But need to check this when I speak to midwife in a couple weeks time.

Yup! Honestly last thing on my mind right now (15 weeks)

boymum88 · 18/12/2020 14:57

Had my 1ds at 28+1 due to undiagnosed incompetent cervix. We have not had sex at all after my bfp, had no interest at all then had a cervical stitch placed at 13+4 weeks and have been told no sex, Dh is really good about it as will do anything not to have another 28 weeker, I just try and sort him out now and again😬
That being said it might depend why u had a Prem birth so would ask ur midwife or consultant what they would advise x

BlondePotter · 18/12/2020 16:02

I'm nearly 16 weeks and haven't had it since bfp... I just haven't been remotely bothered and DH hasn't tried it on

PurpleIsTheColour · 18/12/2020 16:17

Same here, I’ve had such a bad nausea since 5 weeks that there’s just no way I can have sex at the moment. Hoping after 12 weeks it will get better but even if not I’m sure partner will understand. I know some women have high sex drive due to the hormones but I am definitely not one of them Confused

HungryHippo20 · 18/12/2020 16:21

28 weeks and was too scared to at first but now it's just the last thing on my mind!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Fairywings123 · 18/12/2020 16:23

I haven't had it up until last night, I'm 14+2, but had a mc last pregnancy and I was so scared of bleeding even tho it can be normal, but gave in last night so to speak, just had it alot more gentle and not to far in (sorry tmi) I doubt we'll do it much till after this ones born, just to make sure xx

Twinkle1989 · 18/12/2020 17:24

Me😭 I'm too frightened 7 weeks + 4 today - I don't think it is work the risk of bleeding and the worry. In all honesty, I don't think I could possibly relax!

Maybe after first trimester I may feel a bit more relaxed

StaceImpactWfan · 18/12/2020 17:26

I have a low lying placenta so haven't since 32 weeks as was told it can cause bleeding. I'm now 35+6 partner is ok with it as he doesn't want to cause any problems.

LittleTiger007 · 18/12/2020 17:33

I’ve been extra frisky since the bfp! ... constantly horny ... my husband is enjoying this pregnancy so far ... it may not last. Today I’m hormonal and teary 🤷‍♀️ Which is weird and has taken me by surprise. I’m 18 weeks.

Edelweiss2020 · 18/12/2020 17:46

We were from BFP at 4 weeks until about 7 weeks when I started bleeding a little afterwards, stopped for 5 weeks til after first scan then have started again but I am wary of bleeding happening again so it’s not as easy to enjoy it! Now 15+3 :)

Luckyelephant1 · 18/12/2020 17:56

I haven't yet at 10+2, initially I was really frisky but now pregnancy headaches etc have kicked in. Husband also feels a bit weird about it, hopefully this will all subside as I can't go another 6-7 months without!! I think we will probably wait until 2nd trimester.

Daffodil21 · 18/12/2020 18:11

I'm too scared too - this is my fourth pregnancy (no children) so nothing is going up there except progesterone!!!

ivfbeenbusy · 18/12/2020 19:18

I'm 30 weeks with twins via IVF after 5 miscarriages and 2 ruptured ectopics- haven't had sex since before these babies were conceived (these babies are from embryos frozen in January!). To be honest I had a noticeable bump very quickly and have just got bigger so just not felt comfortable. There were a couple of weeks I thought I might be in the mood but that's a distant memory now 🤣 it helps that we are BOTH knackered as DH works shifts and we have a 4 year old that still doesn't sleep through the night!

Waitingforbabypage · 18/12/2020 20:55

Honestly cannot get enough of OH at the best of times but I'm even worse now! Poor man is knackered!!!

SkyBlue20 · 18/12/2020 23:30

28 weeks and haven’t had sex since we conceived. We were nervous at first due to previous loss and were going to wait until after 12 weeks, then I had a bleed at 8 weeks which meant we definitely wanted to wait (as know you can bleed after sex and that would have just worried us), then it’s just not really happened 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think we were both very nervous for a long time and now we’re a bit more comfortable with it, DH finds it weird as he knows baby is moving around and whatnot. Keep thinking we should but tbh my sex drive is non-existent so we’ll see what happens... 😬

ivfbeenbusy · 19/12/2020 08:37

I think it also depends very much on your partner too - some men find pregnant women a really big turn on. Whereas my DH I think is just freaked out by my bump - since I'm having twins I had a bump very early and was in maternity wear from about 9 weeks - the twins are really active too - if ones not wriggling the other is especially at night and I think it would make him even more uncomfortable if I initiated anything with the bump moving around like it does 🤣

Mommabear20 · 19/12/2020 08:43

I'm currently 7weeks 6 days and we've not DTD for about a month. The first week and a half I'd say was because we simply didn't have time, but I suffer with really bad nausea in early pregnancy (as well as some sickness) so sex is just a no go for me. It got better around 16 weeks with my previous pregnancy with DD so hoping this is the same (or earlier🤞🤞) .

DiabeticFirstBaby · 19/12/2020 09:17

Nice to see others in same position! 20 weeks now, had sex once at 14ish weeks but that's it. DH is worried about hurting the baby and i think is a bit freaked out. I don't really feel that bothered atm either!

Same. I'm 26 weeks and I think mines seriously considering moving out just to get a break.
