Anyone with predicted 90th percentile babies? What was the outcome... A bit scared.

Hi everyone.

I hope you can help... I had a growth scan yesterday at exactly 37wks. Told me baby was in the 90+ percentile for head and abdominal measurements with legs just under 50th percentile.

Expected to weigh 7lbs 9oz already.

Does anyone have any experience with this at all? If so, we’re the predictions accurate? It’s making me really nervous... FTM

Scan at 36 weeks and ds's tummy was so big, the computer couldn't do the calculations. The scanner had to work it out by hand. He was born at 36 weeks 6 days and weighed 8lb 10oz. It was the easiest of my 3 births.

Good luck OP.

Mine were all big.
Biggest was 10lb 2oz was about nine hours, a graze with one stitch and cord around neck, but fine. Born by SVD at 42+6

Youngest was 9lb 13oz born in about five hours with good labour and easy delivery. Went to Tesco 2 hours postnatally. Not so much as a stitch needed. Born by SVD at 42+4

Size is not an indication of complications.

I measured big the whole way through, and dd was born at 36+4 weighting 7lb 2oz (though even now at almost two there's still questions as to whether she was actually a preemie, or if they got my dates wrong)
Size predictions are just that, predictions. There is truly no way of knowing until baby is born and as pp have said size doesn't necessarily indicate complications.
