Has anyone ever been told not pregnant after many positive pregnancy tests?

Hi my last period was 16 of November it was a normal period and my cycle is usually 24-25 days, i was supposed to have my next period around 15-16 dec but i started bleeding around the 10th of dec the bled for 3 days and on the 14th i took a first response pregnancy test it came up positive like straight away and so i used fhe second one in the box to make sure and it came out to be positive aswel faint but visibly faint. Over the next 3 days i kept testing cause i couldn't believe it it has gotten darker like obvious positive, i went gp he done a test on the machines and it came out negative. Then he send me for a scan and they told me my uterus lining is to thin to be pregnant yet i tested this morning again with an obvious positive. I just need someones opinion cause im losing my mind over this. Thanks

I haven't ever heard of this! Did you show gp your tests? Did he have any theory why your tests were positive but his weren't?

I've read that hospital pregnancy tests aren't as good as the shop ones like FR 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm sure there was another lady in a similar position on here a week or so ago xx

I wish i could upload the picture of my tests cause ive done multiple. Ive shown her the picture of the test on my phone she said it was negative even tho there is a visible good line. When i said i have like 10 test all positive she said from the scan she can tel its not a miscarriage and im not pregnant but my test do progress. And no she didn't have a theory according to her i should forget the first response because they can pick up a ridiculous low hcg and so.. my test is negative, still not explaining how it end up in my urine thought. Very confusing ill be taking a digi tomorrow cause my test have a nice line now. If its says pregnant not even sure to be exited or not.

I’ve not heard of this either but my understanding was that any line meant a positive no matter how faint and given that you’ve done several all with the same result would suggest you are pregnant

Yes we have been trying for 7 years with no luck or ever a positive this is the first time and i get to hear its not true.. just devastating not sure what to do if the test does come back pregnant shall i just believe it?

I've read a case on Mumsnet where a woman tested her urine in a pot her pregnant sister had used and the test was sensitive enough to detect a residue left from the previous use! Could it be something like that?

No that would be impossible my daughter is 13 years old

My first GP test came back “inconclusive” - this was after a positive Clear Blue.

They told me to test again a few days later which was then positive.

She is ten now and very “conclusive” indeed!

I think all you can do is wait. It will become clearer soon. (Sorry - I know that is an awful suggestion!)

Well she even mentioned clear blue and said we have many woman come in here with a clear blue faint line and they are not pregnant very ignorant woman if u ask me wasnt even bothered to take a blood test. Or investigate where the hcg came from. But yea probably the best thing to do is to wait it out and see thank you.

I can see lines on all of those and I can't normally on my phone.

They all look positive to me!

There's got to be some HCG in your system for all those tests to have lines showing, especially as they're different brands.
I'm surprised they haven't looked into whether it could be ectopic-I know very little about it but from what I've heard you get a positive test but it's not in the right place. I would leave it a few days, keep testing and then get back onto your GP or early pregnancy unit.

Thank you all. That is the reason why im feeling like im losing my mind.. i mean why would i get all this positive tests. But im just gonna hold off and wait for my next period, and see what happens next

I can see the lines too. Have you tried a digital test as well?

@Willow4987 yes it was negative

Are those lines from the 14th or today? They’re visible but relatively faint, which would mean you’re still early. Doctors tests won’t be sensitive enough to get positive from those. However, that was six days ago. Have they got stronger since then? If not it could be ectopic or chemical I’m afraid.

Hmm it’s very strange. Maybe give it a few more days and then redo it

@LividLover those test are from the 16th i havent tested yet but im im planning to test today as today suddenly ive had very bad lower back aches and been feeling very nauseous unwell and dizzy. Im scared it might be a ectopic or indeed a chemical quite shocking this is my first positive test in 7 years of TTC

@Willow4987 very strange indeed i really hate this part off ttc.. feeling like giving up whats the point of trying when u get a positive test and even then doubt it its a killer.

You need to see line progression.

It’s still very early so increasing HCG is important.

Without being dramatic, my first pregnancy was ectopic and I nearly died. If you have sharp pain, dizziness, shoulder tip pain or fainting go to hospital. Google EPU in your area, they’ll have a good look and might not need a referral.
