Terrine- can we eat it?!

First world problem alert.

I’ve been to Waitrose this morning, essentially to drool / grump at all the nice Christmas food I can’t eat...

I know pate is out because liver products contain too much vitamin A for pregnant women but I bought some terrine instead. The ingredients all look fairly normal. Does anyone know if this is okay? NHS only mention pate.

If the answer is no I’m binning it as can’t bear to watch DH eat it. He’s already gloating over the cheese 😭

The only information I've been able to find says not

BUT

It looks like it's an American website, and their food no no's during pregnancy are a bit more extreme due to their differing food standards. It indicates the risk is listeriosis rather than vitamin A due to the way it's prepared. Personally, I'd view it as akin to pre-packed ham. If you'd be happy to eat that, then terrine should be ok. Wish I'd remembered about their existence when I was craving pate.
