Is my NHS scan too early for combined test...

Hi, I went for an early private scan today. (This was booked way before I got my NHS scan date through which I was expecting to be after Christmas).

According to LMP I'm 10+3 today, but the private scan today put me at 9+6, so 4 days out. Makes sense to me as I did think I ovulated later in my cycle than my app predicted.

However this would mean my NHS scan and combined nuchal test, which is next Wed 23rd, will be when when I'm 11 weeks exactly, rather than 11+4 as was presumed by LMP. I've read that the earliest a nuchal measurement can be done is 11+2. Has anyone had a successful NT test at 11 weeks or is it worth me rearranging this?

If it’s too early they will just rearrange the scan for you. I’d continue with the 23rd, nhs don’t tend to take notice of private scan dates

Thanks for your reply, yes I assumed they'd rearrange if I get there and its too early, but if I already know its too early is it worth me letting them know beforehand to avoid wasting their time and mine?

No as I said they don’t take private scans into account, they only work on dates done at nhs scans.my private scan dated me earlier than lmp but had to wait for nhs one to have it confirmed

Yeah it's too early and they'll re arrange - the minimum is 11+6 weeks. But remember that every sonographer will measure a bit differently and babies can have a growth spurt so you might get a completely different measurement on the day of your scan

Mimba1 · 15/12/2020 19:16

I'd keep the appt if you can - if baby measures too small they'll ask you to come back. My measurements were behind nearly a week at 7 wk scan, 4 days at 9 wk scan but a day ahead at 12 (all NHS).

This happened to me and I rang them and they said to come in anyway. Baby was too small and I had to have a rescan but at least I got to see him lots!!

I would just go and see what happens!

I had mine at 11+4 and they did the nuchal scan
It's 11+2 not 11+6 weeks.
Id keep the appointment tbh

Actually here it says it can be done from ten weeks

Yes too early. My midwife booked me in at 11 weeks and the sonographer could only look at the brain, heart and limbs ( brief look to see if they look normal) my hospital has no more scan slots atm, so fingers crossed they can squeeze me in somewhere soon.
